The obit does say there is a sister, Rose Tesson, in MO, and I found her in the 1900 Nodaway County, Monroe, MO census with John Teson, husband, children, Mary, b Oct 1891, b MO, Hazel E. b May 1896, b NE, and a Mattia? Smock, Boarder b Sept 1818, 81 yrs. says he was a landlord and he was single. This could be Bertha's grandfather, maybe?
