Schmitz, Eleanor Elizabeth Auffert, 90, Parnell, died Sunday, November 27, 2005, at Pineview Manor Convalescent Center, Stanberry. She was born March 27, 1915, to George and Catherine Kotmetscher Auffert. On October 8, 1935, she married Lawrence "Bud" Schmitz, in Parnell. He preceded her in death on June 30, 1989.Mrs. Schmitz was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Parnell, 60 Plus Club and St. Ann’s Altar Society. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Bernard Lawrence Schmitz; granddaughter, Anne Christian; great-granddaughter, Stephanie Henry; parents; three sisters, Anna Schmitz, Agnes Spire and Emma Bauer; five brothers, John Auffert, Francis Auffert, Ben Auffert, Lawrence Auffert and Edward Auffert. She is survived by two daughters, Carmelita Untiedt and husband, Joseph and LaVeta Ginther and husband, Leo, both of Stanberry; three sons, Donald Schmitz and wife, Teresa and Jerome Schmitz and wife, Dorothy, both of Parnell and Gerald Schmitz and wife, Patricia, Conception Jct.; 23 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
