Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at her home.
She
was born January 26, 1932, in Maryville to Kirtley and Vivian Bulher Sears.
Mrs.
Kieser was a homemaker.
She
was a member of St. Gregory's Catholic Church and the Canasta Card Club.
She
was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Leroy Thomas; second husband, John Kieser; parents and brother, Richard Sears.
She
is survived by her children, Kirtley Thomas, Maryville, and Kathy Wiseman, Raymore; grandsons, Joshua Wiseman and Seth Wiseman, both of Raymore; brothers, Bulher Sears and Bill Sears, both of Maryville; sister, Shirley Zech, Maryville.
Mrs.
Kieser has been cremated under
the care of the Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville. There will [be] no viewing or visitation.
A
memorial mass will be celebrated at 12 noon, Monday, July 13, at St. Gregory's
Catholic Church. Burial will be
private.
Memorial

Townsend Wholesale Grocery, Maryville and retired from the Maryville Sears
Store.
She
married Louis Skeed in 1935,
who preceded her in death and then married Otis E. Booth on Aug. 9,1961 in Maryville.
Mrs.
Booth was a graduate of Omaha,
Neb. South High School.
She
was a member of the Maryville First Baptist Church, Share and Care of the
Church, Mutual Improvement Circle, O.E.S. and Rebekah Lodge.
Mrs.
Booth was also preceded in death
by her parents, one brother and one sister.
Survivors
include her husband, of the home; one son, Lowell Skeed, Trenton; two daughters, Marcia Beattie, Barnard and Gail Booth, Maryville; seven grandchildren; three great
grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Saturday, May 30, 1992 at a health care center in Richmond.

in Nodaway County, Mrs. Smith
resided in St. Joseph for 40 years and prior to that had resided in Savannah.
She
had formerly been employed as a sales lady for many years at United Department
Store and Townsend & Wall Department Store.
Mrs.
Smith was a member of the
Christian Faith.
She
was preceded in death by her husband, George William Smith; three brothers and six sisters.
Survivors
include two daughters, Mildred Brewer and Opal Embree,
both of Richmond; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great
great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside
services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Savannah Cemetery, Savannah.

Wilson, 84, Bolckow, died Sunday,
May 31,1992 at a hospital in St. Joseph. Born in Nodaway County, he had lived
in the area until moving to Bolckow in1957.
He
graduated from Savannah High School and was a rural letter carrier for 29
years, retiring in 1973.
Mr. Wilson married Thelma M. Noble
in St. Joseph.
He
was an Air Force veteran of World War II and was a member of the Dick Munkres American
Legion Post No. 287, Savannah.
Mr.
Wilson was preceded in death by
two sisters.
Survivors
include two sons, Ralph Wilson,
Bolckow and Roger Wilson, St.
Joseph; two daughters, Donna Smith,
Bolckow and Wanda Queen, Las
Vegas, Nev. and 10 grandchildren.

"Dick" Haynes, 76,
Maryville, died Sunday, May 31,1992 at St. Francis Hospital, Maryville.
Born
May 4,1916 in Seattle, Wash, to Fred and Goldie Still Haynes, he was a farmer.
Mr.
Haynes married Maxine McClurg on Oct. 27, 1946 in Maryville.
He
owned the mile long farm south of Maryville, was the farm program instructor at
Maryville High School, office manager of the ASCS Office and manager of
Merrigan Livestock Company, Maryville.
Mr.
Haynes was a 1933 graduate of
Skidmore High School, University of Missouri and a 1940 graduate of the College
of Agriculture.
He
was a member and elder of the First Christian Church, Farm Bureau, Feeder Calf
Association, American Legion Post No. 100, Nodaway Lodge No. 470 AF & AM,
all of Maryville, organizer of the Maryville Senior Citizens Center.
Mr.
Haynes served in the United
States Army during World War II in China Burma India Theater.
He
was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson and one granddaughter.
Survivors
include his wife, of the home; two sons, Don Haynes, Maryville and Richard Haynes, Superior, Wis.; two sisters, Jane O'Riley,
Maryville and Helen Meyer, Gardener, Kan.; one grandson and several nieces and
nephews.
Visitation
is currently under way at Price Funeral Home, Maryville. Services will be held
at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Maryville Christian Church, with the Rev. Donald Childers officiating.

State Teachers College.

Holt served in the United States
Army during World War II in the South Pacific.

was preceded in death by two brothers.

Froyd was a member of the
Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Maryville and the
Ladies Group of the church.
She
was preceded in death by her husband; parents; five brothers and four sisters.
Survivors
include one sister, Bertha Keeney,
Maitland; one brother, Vincent Smith, St. Joseph, and nieces and nephews.

States Navy during World War II in the South Pacific.
He
was a member of the Church of God (7th Day) and the American Legion Post, both
of Raytown.
Mr.
Thurman had resided in the
Stanberry area until 1941.
He
was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
Survivors
include his wife, of the home; three sisters, Lucille Wilson, Stanberry, Gayle Weese and Minnie Walden, both of Kansas City and nieces and nephews.

John Henry Hanna, 77 years of age, died this morning at 8:30
o'clock at his home south of Pickering.
Mr. Hanna was born in Gallia County, Ohio, January 21, 1854. It was in that
year that his parents came west and settled in Polk Township, seven miles
northeast of Maryville. He was married to Lizzie Neal, January 25, 1893. They have lived on the same
farm since that time.
He Is survived by his widow, four sons, [Roscoe] Lyle [Lisle] Hanna of

John [McCartney] Hanna, 81, died at his home in Hopkins at 7:30 o'clock
Saturday night. Funeral services
were held at the Young and Campbell Funeral Home at 10 o'clock Wednesday
morning. Burial was at Amity, Mo.
Mr. Hanna, a retired farmer, moved to Hopkins in 1928 from Amity where he had
lived since early childhood. He
was born at Newcastle, Penn., Dec. 29, 1856.

Funeral to Be Thursday
Mrs. Mary E. [lizabeth] Hanna,
77 years of age, a long time resident of the Pickering community, died at 6:45
o'clock last night at the St. Francis hospital. She had been ill several years but her condition
became serious a week ago.
Mrs. Hanna, the former Mary Elizabeth McClanahan, was born June 15, 1863, near Clyde. At the age of 3 she moved with her
parents to Guilford, where she lived until she was married December 15, 1884,
to James [Benton] F. [inley] Hanna
of Maryville. They lived on a farm
northeast of Maryville for three years and then moved to a farm one and
one-half miles northwest of Pickering, where she lived until her health began
to fail. Since then she has made
her home with her children, having lived at the home of her daughter, Mrs.
L. [eslie] E. Taylor [Iva], before
taking seriously ill. She attended
the old Seminary and was a teacher for several years in the rural schools. She was a member of the M. E. church South,
of Guilford and also a member of the O. E. S. chapter 533, of Pickering.
She is survived by one son, Leslie Hanna, Pickering; two daughters, Mrs. Walter [Cleveland]
Runnels [Maysel Clare], Pickering,
and Mrs. L. [eslie] E. Taylor [Iva],
Maryville; three brothers, Dr. J. [ohn] M. [ilton], W. [illiam] D. and
J.[ames] H.[enry] McClanahan,

Physician of This County Had Been Ill Several Months
Dr. John Milton McClanahan 81 years of age, died at 12:30 o'clock this
morning at his home in Guilford.
He had been ill for several months. [Words missing]
On October 29, 1902, he was married to Miss Lenora Heffron of Albany.
Dr. McClanahan had practiced medicine in the Guilford community
for fifty-five years and was a graduate of the Washington University School of
Medicine of St. Louis and did post-graduate work at the Missouri
University. He also studied at
several clinics in Chicago.
He was a member of the Guilford lodge A. F. and A.
M. No. 474 and several years ago was presented a gold button for having been a
member of the Masonic lodge for fifty years. He was also a member of the I. O. O. F. and Modern Woodman
lodge of Guilford. He was a member
of the First Methodist church of Guilford.
He is survived by his wife; one sister, Mrs. J.
[oseph] O. [liver] Thompson [Jane Ann],
Guilford; two brothers, W. [illiam] D. and J. [ames] H. [enry] McClanahan of Guilford; a foster sister, Mrs. George
Moran, St. Joseph; two nephews, Lester

McClanahan Rites At Guilford Yesterday
Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at
the First Methodist church in Guilford for Dr. John Milton McClanahan, who died Wednesday morning at his home in
Guilford, following an illness of several months. Rev. W. J. Cox of Guilford officiated. Burial was in the Graves cemetery.
Pallbearers were A. H. Wilson, Warren Wilson, Hugh
Ellis, A. B. Davis, Elmer Wise and S. J. Killam. The flower girls were Virginia and Bonnie Sherry, Margaret
and Ruth Anna Wise, Georgia Hanna, Willadee Anderson, Diara Lee Martin and
Dorlene Hayes.
"Does Jesus Care," "Abide With Me," and "Will
There Be Any Stars in My Crown," were the songs furnished by the mixed double
quartet of Guilford under the direction of Miss Doris Hiles.

D. McClanahan, Guilford
Druggist, Dies At Age of 83
W. [illiam] D. McClanahan, 83 years old, who was owner and manager of the
McClanahan drug store about forty-seven years, died at 10:55 o'clock last night
at his home at Guilford, following an illness of four weeks. He had been in failing health for some
time.
He was born May 11, 1861, on a farm near Clyde and
moved with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Adam McClanahan [Nancy Eveline
Chandler], to a farm two and
one-half miles east of Guilford when a small boy. He obtained his early education in the rural schools of
Washington Township and later attended the Normal at Stanberry and Seminary at
Maryville, where he received a business college diploma in 1883.
When he was 17 years of age he began teaching
school and taught for seventeen consecutive years in the Guilford
community. He then engaged in the
drug business.
On April 23, 1896, he was married to Miss
Bertha [Sophia] Bonham. The wedding took place at the home of
the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Bonham [Sophia Fisher], near Empire Prairie, southeast of Guilford.
He served as a member of the first board of
trustees of the town of Guilford and also as a member of the board of
education. He was a member of the
Methodist Episcopal church South, and served as an official board member for
about twenty-five years.
Active in the Masonic fraternity, Mr.
McClanahan was a past master of
the Guilford lodge No. 474, A. F. and A. M. and completed fifty years as a
member June 28, 1940, at which time he was presented a gold pin designating
that fact.
Besides his wife he is survived by one son, L.
[ester] D. McClanahan; one
brother, James H. [enry] McClanahan;
one sister, Mrs. Jane Ann Thompson,
all of Guilford; one foster-sister, Mrs. George Moran, St. Joseph, and one granddaughter, Miss Lois
Jean McClanahan, Maryville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock
Thursday afternoon at the Guilford Methodist church. Burial will be in the Graves cemetery, near Guilford.

Guilford Merchant, Dies
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock
Thursday afternoon at the Methodist church of Guilford for James Henry
McClanahan, 77-year-old retired
merchant, who died at 1:30 o'clock this morning at the home of his sister, Mrs.
Jane Ann Thompson of Guilford,
where he had been residing about nine months. Burial will be in the Graves cemetery.
Mr. McClanahan was born April 6, 1868, at Guilford, the son of
the late Mr. and Mrs. Adam S. McClanahan [Nancy Eveline Chandler]. He
was married April 22, 1900, to Hattie Boyd, who died in January of this year.
Mr. McClanahan, who had been a retired merchant for twenty-five
years, had suffered a long illness.
He had been a resident of Guilford all of his life.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. J. [ohn] O.
Ellis, Los Angeles, Calif., and
one sister, Mrs. Thompson.

McClanahan Rites Held
Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon
at the Methodist church of Guilford for James Henry McClanahan, who died Wednesday. The Rev. Woodrow Elliott of Ravenwood officiated. Burial was in the Graves cemetery.
Music was furnished by Miss Lois McClanahan,
Wilmer Martin, Miss Donna Martin and Vilas Martin, accompanied by Mrs. Lester McClanahan.
Pallbearers were Charles Wallace, A. B. Davis, Abe
Heinrichs, Carl Campbell, Elmer Wise and Andrew Nelson.

Rites Tuesday
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock
Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist church at Guilford for Mrs. J. [ames] H.
[enry] McClanahan [Hattie Boyd],
72 years old, of Guilford, who died at 10:30 o'clock last night at the St.
Francis hospital where she had been a patient since January 7.
She was born September 5, 1872, the daughter of
the late Mr. and Mrs. L.[ittleton] A. Boyd [Louisa Hardin] and
had resided at Guilford since April 22, 1900, when she was married to J.
[ames] H. [enry] McClanahan, who
survives. Mrs. McClanahan was a member of the Christian church.
Other survivors include one daughter, Mrs. John
Ellis, Los Angeles, Calif., and
three sisters, Mrs. Martha Scott,
Clinton, Okla.; Mrs. Ada Sager
and Mrs. Iva Summers,
Stanberry.
