Kamara, Yaya Kabba - Yaya Kabba Kamara, 52, of Maryville, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 18, 2008 at a St. Louis Hospital.
Born on April 18, 1956 in Makeni, Sierra Leone, West Africa, he was the son of the late, Mohamed Kabba Kamara and Mabinty Sillah. He was formerly employed with Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing Corporation, Maryville. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sue Griffin Kamara, whom he married on December 30, 2007, loving children, Adama Kabba Kamara, step-children, Michael Dean Owens, Independence, MO, Pamela Sue Bears, Maryville, Amy Lee Weese, Burlington Junction, Robert Brandon Owens, Maryville, Laura Nicole Owens, Graham, brothers, Idrissa Kabba Kamara, Ibrahim Kabba Karmara, Mohamed Kabba Kamara, sisters, Janatu Tarawally, Kadiatu Kabba Kamara, Sunkari Kabba Kamara, Ariatu Sesay, he is also survived by the family that brought him to the states, Dr. Jack & Marilyn Flinner, Mankato, MN, 9 grandchilden. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at the Danfelt Funeral Home, 951 S. Main Street, Maryville, MO 644688. Final Resting Place will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Maryville. There will be no evening visitation however the family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 Noon to 2 P.M. Born on September 12, 1929 in Graham, MO she was the daughter of the late Harley & Thelma (Couch) Alloway. She married Harold Dean Kenny on August 17, 1948, in Maryville, MO. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Graham, MO. She was employed with the Maitland Nutrition Site and the Nodaway-Holt School Library. She is survived by her devoted husband Harold D. Kenny, and her loving sons, Tommy D. Kenny and wife Connie, Skidmore, MO; Jerry Kenny and wife Cate, Skidmore, MO; Kurby L. and wife Marylou, Skidmore, MO. She is also survived by a brother William Glenn Alloway and wife Christine, Dana Point, CA; and a sister-in-law Helen Alloway, Austin, TX, as well as 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister Anna Mae Alloway, a brother Harley Vernon Alloway, and Marshall Couch. There will be no evening visitation. Due to weather, the services for Mary Louise Kenny, 80 of Graham, Mo will be held on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville. Born on February 25, 1922 in Conception, MO he was the son of the late Frowin C. & Rose (Schwebach) Kern. He was a Veteran serving in WW II in the US Navy. He was a member of the St. Columbia Catholic Church and a member of the Tri-C American Legion Post 464 Conception. He was a retired farmer. He is survived by his loving wife, Althea M. (Derks) Kern, whom he married on May 21, 1955, loving children, Phillip Kern and wife Janice, Charles Kern and wife Rena and Chris Kern all of Ravenwood, also survived by two grandchildren & three step-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Leo & Albert Kern, two sisters, Mary Galbraith and Agnes Lochart. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M., on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at the St. Columba Catholic Church, Conception Junction, MO. Final Resting Place will be in the St. Columba Cemetery with military honors . The family will receive friends at the St. Columba Catholic Church on Wednesday evening from 6 to 7 P.M., with a Parish Prayer Service at 7 P.M. Born on January 26, 1932 in Maryville, she was the daughter of the late Kirtley & Vivian (Bulher) Sears. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Leroy Thomas and her second husband, John Kieser. She was a Homemaker and member of the St. Gregory's Catholic Church as well as a member of the Canasta Card Club. She is survived by her loving children, Kirtley Thomas, Maryville, Kathy Wiseman, Raymore, grandsons, Joshua Wiseman and Seth Wiseman both of Raymore. Also surviving are brothers, Bulher Sears, Bill Sears, and sister, Shirley Zech, all of Maryville and was preceded in death by brother Richard Sears. Mrs. Kieser has been cremated under the trusted care of the Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville. There will no viewing or visitation. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 13, 2009 at 12:00 P.M. at the St. Gregory's Catholic Church. Burial will be private. Born on October 15, 1925 in Skidmore, MO he was the son of the late George Raymond & Margaret Grace (Maurer) Kiser. He was a WW II Veteran serving in the US Navy. He was a member of Graham Union Church, James Edward Gray American Legion Post 100, Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. Lodge #289, Graham. He was a carpenter most of his life and retired in 1992 from Northwest Missouri State University. He is survived by his devoted wife, Roberta Jean (Neff) Kiser, whom he married on February 14, 1949 in Maryville, loving children, Kathryn Davenport and husband Robert, Branson, MO, Karen Elifrits and husband Chad, St. Joseph, MO, Rebecca Jean Kiser and husband Andrew Stanley, Shawnee, KS, a sister, Sandra Sue Sanders, Maryville, two brothers, Paul R. Kiser, Barnard, MO & Clarence "Butch" Kiser, Singer Island, FL, eight grandchildren & ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin sons, George & Raymond Kiser and a sister, Minnie Mae Goodpasture. Kivett, Mary Carolyn Slaughter - Mrs Mary Carolyn Kivett, 85, long time resident of Hopkins, died at 11:45 o'clock Friday night in the Berry nursing home at Shambaugh [Iowa] where she had been a patient for four months. She had been ill only a short time. Mrs Kivett is survived by three daughters, Mrs Ruby Garten, Hopkins; Mrs Dale King and Mrs Stewart O'Dougherty, both of Lenox, Ia; one sister, Mrs Clara Miller, Portland: two brothers, Theodore Slaughter and C.W. Slaughter, both of Portland: 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Baptist church in Hopkins and burial will be in the White Oak cemetery near Pickering in charge of the Swanson funeral directors.
