L. Donald Keever, surrounded by his family, went to his eternal home to be with the Lord on February 19, 2008.

Donald was born October 12th, 1915 on a farm east of Skidmore, Missouri to Carl and Bertha Dawson Keever, the oldest of four sons. He attended Eureka School, a one room school house, and Skidmore High School.

He married Neva Colwell on February 14, 1937 at the Methodist parsonage in Maryville, Missouri. He and Neva were married 68 years before her passing.

He was a farmer. He and his wife lived all their life in the Nodaway and Holt counties working side by side, always together. He also worked at Center Milk Plant and Northwest Missouri Stae College before retiring in 1980.

He was a member of the Skidmore Methodist Church. Many Sunday afternoons after church were spent visiting family or local nursing homes to see friends and family there. His life of giving was an example and blessing to others.

He was a quiet man, gentle and loving to everyone. He was always there to help if anyone was in need. He loved his family and friends, welcoming them with a smile when they came to visit.

Donald is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Richard Wilson, St. Joseph, his grandchildren and their spouses, Lora and Randy Sondrol, St. Paul Minnesota and Troy and Jodi Wilson, Lee's Summit, Missouri, seven great-grandchildren, Chai, Corbin, Caleb, Noah and Isabella Wilson, Lee's Summit, MO and Katie and Matthew Sondrol, St. Paul, Minnesota, his brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Betty Keever Maryville, Missouri and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and two brothers, Dean Keever and Bob Keever.

Ruth was a member of the Skidmore, Missouri Christian Church, a farm wife and homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Dean, on March 4, 2002; her daughter, Cindy Ungles; her parents; five brothers: George, Jim, William, Cecil and Ralph Walden and a sister: Martha Ellison..

Irene Marie Kelemen was born January 17, 1916, the daughter of Frank and Julia (Toth) Kelemen in Cleveland, Ohio.

Sr. Mercedes joined Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration in Clyde December 7, 1949
and made her final profession November 9, 1956.

Sister worked in the altar bread department, the kitchen and made ceramics in the craft shop.

Fred Thomas Kerwin, 91, Parnell, Missouri died Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at St, Francis Hospital, Maryville, Missouri.

He was born April 8, 1917 in Parnell, Missouri, the son of Thomas and Josephine Wilhelmina (Straussmyer) Kerwin. He married Thelma Lauretta Womack on February 20, 1939 in Parnell, Missouri.

A retired farmer and livestock producer, Mr. Kerwin was a member of St Joseph's Catholic Church and the Seven Dolors Cemetery Board, Parnell. He served on the Farm Credit Services Board over 40 years, he was also a member of the FHA Board and a former member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: James and Philip Kerwin; a sister: Anna Schmitz; three grandchildren: Kyle Wells, Shelly Schubert and Tasha Roberts.

Though the years, Irene was very active in her Church, serving in various capacities, and also, her community. She especially loved her family and many friends.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents; a stillborn son Bernard Alan; first husband Carl Bauerle , Jr.; second husband William F. Knickerbocker; and a brother Russell Brockhoff.

Kivett, Mary Carolyn Slaughter - Mrs Mary Carolyn Kivett, 85, long time resident of Hopkins, died at 11:45 o'clock Friday night in the Berry nursing home at Shambaugh [Iowa] where she had been a patient for four months. She had been ill only a short time.

Born Wednesday, April 3, 1935 in Duncan, Nebraska, he was the son of the late Frank and Anna Mostek Kosiba.

He was a member of the Conception Abbey since 1957. He worked as Abbey Infirmarian from 1957-1965; Development Director, Standing Rock Indian Reservation, Fort Yates, North Dakota from 1965-1986; Development Officer at Conception Abbey from 1986-2004; and the Abbey Porter from 2004-2009.

Surviving are his Monastic Community and sisters, Phyllis(Larry) Kush and Diane(Gary)Keeshan, and his sister-in law Vicky(Bob) Carstenesen, all of Columbus, Nebraska, and by many loving nieces and nephews.

Born Wednesday, April 19, 1961 in Maryville, Missouri, she was the daughter of Gary and Darlene Vance Hagg. June 10, 2000 she was united in marriage to Brian Kretzschmer in Nevada, Missouri.

She was a 1979 graduate of Nodaway Holt High School, 1984 graduate of NWMSU Practical nursing Program, and 1994 graduate of Park College where she received her Registered Nursing degree. Terri had served for 30 years in the medical profession.

Ruby Virginia Krome, 106, Burlington Junction, died at home on Saturday, October 17, 2009.

Born July 21, 1903, in Burlington Junction, she was the daughter of the late William Presley and Eddice Graves Neff. She attended Burlington Junction High School.

On March 1, 1934, she married William Frederick Krome in Maryville, Missouri.

Mrs. Krome was a member of the Burlington Junction Christian Church and the Garden Club. She was a seamstress and an avid gardener.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill (January 15, 1975) and three sisters.
