Hahn, James Samuel -
James Samuel Hahn, age 82, of Maryville, Missouri, died Monday, February 9, 2009, at St. Francis Hospital in Maryville, Missouri.
He was born October 9, 1926 in Troy, Kansas, son of the late Jessie and Hattie (Murphy) Hahn.
He was a Navy veteran of 20 years, serving in World War II and Korea. After serving in the navy he worked for the Albany Regional Diagnostic Center, Albany, MO as a dietician. His memberships included the Raymond Sager American Legion Post #260, Stanberry, MO and the Fleet Reserve ASS #379. He was a past Commander of the former Veteran of Foreign Wars, Stanberry.
James was united in marriage to Mary Putman Rusk, on March 4, 1956 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She survives him of the home, Maryville.
Preceding him in death were 2 brothers Bill and Harry Hahn; 2 sisters Gladys Pohl and Mary Hahn, and one grandson Steven Clifford.
Additional survivors include: 8 Daughters; Joan Given, Lafayette, Indiana, Connie Turman, Denver, Colorado, Marcella Cicciarelli, Murrieta, California, Betty Goerke, Maryville, Missouri, Judy Clifford, Kansas City, Missouri, Debbie Hahn, Denver, Colorado, Mary Spire, Maryville, Missouri, Sandra (Sam) Hahn, Crossville, Tennessee; 2 Sons, Bert Ridgeway, Bryan, Texas, James D. Hahn, Springfield, Missouri; one sister, Martha Russell state of Mississippi; 19 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hahn's body has been cremated under the direction of the Price Funeral Home, Maryville, MO. A visitation will be held at the American Legion Post #260, 215 North Park Street, Stanberry, Missouri from 6-8 PM on Thursday, February 12, 2009. Interment will be in the National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS.

Halley, Brian Craig -
Brian Craig Halley, 35, Maryville, Missouri died March 21, 2008 at his home after a courageous battle with metastatic melanoma.
He was born August 3, 1972 in Unionville, Missouri, the son of Phillip Craig and Denise Kae (Abbott) Halley. Brian was a graduate of Putnam County R-I High School, Unionville and he received a BA in Speech Communication and a BS in Education from Missouri Western State College, St Joseph, Missouri.
On January 3, 2003 he married Jennifer Marie Heflin in Maryville; He was an educator, having taught 7th grade at Maryville Middle School, where he also enjoyed coaching football.
Brian was a member of St Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Community, Maryville, and the Alpha Chapter of Sigma Tau Gamma.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Raymond Halley, maternal grandfather: Murl Rogers, and his mother-in-law: Ann Heflin.
Survivors include his wife, Jenni, his son: Tyler Craig Halley, stepdaughters: Rachel and Amberlea Auffert, all of their home in Maryville; his parents: Phillip and Denise Halley, Unionville; brother and sister-in-law: Todd and Jamie Halley, and their son, Trace, Unionville; paternal grandmother: Kathleen Halley, Unionville; maternal grandparents: Genny Rogers, Kirksville, Missouri and Marvin Abbott, Unionville; father-in-law: Paul Heflin, brother-in-law: Jacob Heflin, sisters-in-law and their husbands: Karis and Adam Morrow, and their son, Zeke; Erin and T J Allen and their children, Tori and Don, all of Maryville; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will be deeply missed by all those who loved him.
A 4pm Legion of Mary Rosary will be March 24, 2008 at Price Funeral Home, Maryville.
Visitation is 5-7pm pm Monday, March 24th at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, Maryville with a prayer service at 7 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial is 11 am, Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at St Gregory's Catholic Church, with burial in St Patrick's Cemetery, Maryville, Missouri.

Virginia Diane (Enders) Halls, 66, Mason Ohio, (formerly of Nodaway County, Missouri), died Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Mason Christian Village.
She was born February 11, 1943 in Pickering, Missouri the daughter of Eldon Douglas and Leila Evelyn (Mitchell) Enders. Diane was a graduate of Skidmore High School, Skidmore, Missouri and Nebraska Christian College. She was a homemaker.
Ms Halls was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include three brothers: Raymond Enders, Williamsburg, Ohio; Kenneth Enders, Independence, Kentucky and Lawrence Enders, Nixa, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.

Hamilton, Bernice Griffey - Bernice Hamilton, 94, Clearmont, Mo., passed away July 13, 2009 at Village Care Center, Maryville, Mo.
She was born January 30, 1915 in Clearmont, Mo., the daughter of Lee Everett and Emma Elizabeth (Kellogg) Griffey. Bernice graduated from Clearmont High School in the class of 1933 She married Willard "Wid" Hamilton on December 14, 1938 in Maryville, Mo.
Bernice was a homemaker and had worked in the Dietary Department of St Francis Hospital over twenty-two years. She was a member of the Clearmont United Methodist Church, the Pinochle Club and the Sixty Plus Club, all of Clearmont. Bernice enjoyed traveling on bus tours after she retired.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Wid on June 21, 1968; her parents; brothers: Kenneth and Emeryl Griffey and sister: Iola Thomas.
Survivors include her daughters and their husbands: Hilah and D.C. Macrander, Clearmont, Mo., and Sue and Ron Davison, Braddyville, Iowa; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and a sister: Beatrice Griffey, Maryville.

Hargens, Hattie Jane Smith Archer -
Hattie Jane (Smith) Hargens, 85, of Alta, Iowa, formerly of Northwest Missouri and Ida Grove, Iowa died Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Pleasant View Home in Albert City, Iowa.
She was born September 15, 1923 in Elmo, Missouri the daughter of Daniel Milburn and Ethel Sarah (Clark) Archer. Hattie graduated from the Burlington Junction, Missouri High School in 1941, and then attended Northwest Missouri State Teacher’s College in Maryville, Missouri. She obtained a two-year teaching teacher’s certificate and taught for a year at Taber, Iowa.
On December 24, 1943 Hattie married Walker E Smith. The couple lived in Skidmore, Maryville, St Joseph and Kansas City, Missouri, Sargent, Nebraska and Marathon and Ida Grove, Iowa. She was a bookkeeper with her husband in farm cooperative organizations for many years. She was also the school secretary and Office manager. Walker passed away March 3, 1978 in Ida Grove.
Hattie met Raymond L Hargens in Ida Grove and was married on September 12, 1980. After retiring they spent their winter months in Pharr, Texas until Ray’s death on February 12, 1999.
Mrs. Hargens continued to make her home in Ida Grove until 2007 when she moved to the WEL-Life Assisted Living Community in Alta, Iowa. On July 20, 2009 she entered Hospice Care at Pleasant View Home in Albert City.
In addition to her husbands, Hattie was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Milburn Forest Archer and Daniel Clark Archer and their wives.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandi Smith (Fred) Neary, Marathon; step-children: Alice Hargens (Gary) O’Brien, Kansas City and Kyle Hargens; four step-grandchildren: Erin, Rachel, Matthew and Kevin O’Brien; a brother: Donald (Betty) Archer, Pinehurst, Idaho and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Thursday, September 17, 2009 at Nodaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Maryville, Missouri.

Harmon, Alberta Sherrow - Alberta Harmon was born in Indianola Nebraska to Alva J. and Hazel Dell (Raines) Sherrow August 16, 1918, one of eight children. She graduated from Graham High School, in 1936 and worked in people’s homes until her marriage September 30, 1939 to Leonard E. Harmon.
To this union Larry E. was born.
She cared for her father-in-law, Clark, of the home for several years until his death in 1959. After he died she went to work for the telephone company and worked there until Grand River put in the dial system.
After that Alberta worked in people’s homes, a hardware store, a restaurant and a “Snack Shop".
In 1969 she took some college classes so she could work for Headstart. She cooked 1st session.
In 1971 she took classes at VoTech and became a certified Nurse’s Assistant. She began work at St Francis Hospital the day she graduated, working there for seventeen and a half years.
She and her husband were divorced in 1975. He died in 1980. She was preceded in death by her son: Larry Harmon (September 2007), her parents and two brothers: Francis and LeRoy Sherrow.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law: Peggy Harmon, Platte City, Missouri; a grandson: Lee and his wife, Melissa Harmon, Liberty, Missouri; two great-grandchildren: Delaney and Dawson; two brothers and their wives: Ronald and Jean and Donald and Edna Sherrow, all of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; three sisters: Kathleen Sherrow and her friend Pat Martin, Tecumseh, Kansas; Jean Buster, Buena Vista, Colorado and Mary Hass and her husband: Hale, Kansas City, Missouri, several nieces and nephews and a special friend: Earl Darden.
Visitation is 9-10 am Saturday, January 19, 2008 with a 10 am Funeral Service at Price Funeral Home Chapel, Maryville, Missouri. Burial is in Prairie Home Cemetery, Graham, Missouri.

Harmon, Micheal Dean - Micheal Dean Harmon, age 55, died on May 21, 2009, at his home in Atwater, California.
He was born February 23, 1954 in Victorville, California; the son of Roger Nile and Catherine Mae Colville Harmon.
He was a member of Auberry Community Church, Church of Christ.
Micheal was an over the road truck driver for over 30 years, hauling agricultural produce.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Harmon; grandparents, Vernon and Ruby Colville, Cotton and Roberta Harmon.
Surviving are his mother, Catherine Harmon, sister, Mary (Mike)Walker, Merced, CA.; nephew Jason Walker; niece Catherine Walker; Uncles and Aunts, Jim (Connie) Colville, Bob (Jan) Colville, Helen (Duane) Quinn, and Pepper (Noni) Hale; and numerous cousins.

Dr. Charles Ernest Hawkins, 74, Maryville, Missouri, died Saturday, June 28, 2008, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Saint Joseph, Missouri.
He was born July 25, 1933, in Cochran, Georgia to Minor and Amanda (Shedd) Hawkins. A veteran, he was retired from the United States Navy.
Charles married Jacqueline Margaret Barrington on September 21, 1956, in Christchurch, New Zealand.
He received his BS in accounting and MS in Business Administration from Memphis State University and his PhD in Business from the University of Nebraska. He was a professor of Accounting at Northwest Missouri State University and retired in 1993. A member of the Community of Christ Church in Maryville he was also a volunteer for many groups.
Preceeding him in death were his parents; son Kenneth Hawkins; daughter Karen Hawkins; and brother Harry Hawkins.

Jackie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and employed by McDonalds as a dedicated worker for 16 years . She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Maryville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 52 years, Dr. Charles Earnest Hawkins (6-28-2008), son Kenneth Hawkins, and daughter Karen Hawkins.

Hayden, Frank Donald "Don" - Frank Donald "Don" Hayden, 62, of Maryville passed from this life on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital, Maryville.
Born on October 7, 1946 in Hampton, Iowa Don was the son of Frank Walter & Zelpha Ilee (Wrightman) Hayden.
He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Community of Christ) and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
He was a retired farmer, truck driver, and water treatment plant operator.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Sharon Sue (Nelson) Hayden whom he married on August 18, 1967 in Guilford, MO, Son, Rex Hayden and wife Kim, Bolckow, daughters, Marcee Dougan and husband Jeremy, Maryville, Janette Padgitt and husband Doug, Maryville, Tassy Hayden, St. Louis, brother, Roland Hayden and wife Linda, Maryville, sister, Sandra Combs and husband Dick, Worth, MO, grandchildren, Keira and Kylee Dougan, Maryville, Lauren Padgitt, Maryville, Ellen and Lyndon Hayden, Bolckow, and many extended family members.

Hayden, Helen Delores Miller - Helen Delores Hayden, 73, of Platte City, formerly of Maitland, MO, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 4, 2005 at the Overland Park Regional Hospital after a long illness. She was born on November 10, 1931 in Lansing, KS and was the daughter of the late Herbert & Ruby (Robinson) Miller. She was a member of the Maitland Christian Church. A 50 Year member of the Women's Auxiliary of Maitland. She and her three sisters sang together and were invited to sing on the Lawrence Welk Show. Helen had visited the Hawaiian Islands and enjoyed the trip. She is survived by her husband, William "Bill" M. Hayden, whom she married on April 27, 1977 in St. Joseph, MO, three sisters, Irene Rowlette & Wilma Jean Miles and her husband, Leon, all of Maitland, Lorene Miles, St. Joseph, brothers, Ray D. Miller and wife Gail, Lansing, KS, Glenn A Miller and wife, Pam, Kansas City, MO. She is survived by many nieces & nephews and great nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Mildred Weston and brother, Herbert L. Miller. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 P.M., on Monday, March 7, 2005 at the Maitland Christian Church, 117 N. 4th Street, Maitland, MO 64466 with the Rev. Bill Gazaway, Officiating. Born on October 14, 1936 in Port Arthur, Texas he was the son of the late Alvin Joseph & Marie Lizzie (Landry) Hebert, Sr.
He was of the Catholic Faith and was a Welder most of his life.
He is survived by his loving children, Kelly Kitchen, Houston, Texas and Theresa Hiles, Coin, Iowa, brothers, Allen Hebert and Alton Hebert both of Port Arthur, TX. He is survived by 7 grandchildren. Hallie was born March 22, 1925, in Toms Creek, Virginia, the daughter of Duffie Jerome and Mary Elizabeth (Meade) Joyner.
A 1944 graduate of Ravenwood High School, Ravenwood, Missouri, Hallie married James Sherman Heflin on August 11, 1946 in Ravenwood, Missouri.
She was a member of the Countryside Christian Church, Maryville and the Morgan Sunshine Club.
A homemaker Mrs. Heflin retired from NWMSU, having worked in the Custodial Department.
Hallie was preceded in death by her husband, James on December 8, 1997; her parents, sisters: Thelma O’Riley and Virginia Crenshaw; a brother: Raymond Joyner; a daughter-in-law: Ann Heflin and grandson-in-law: Brian Halley.

Marlin Heflin, 67, of Maryville, Missouri died Saturday, July 19, 2008 at Heartland Regional Medical Center, St Joseph, Missouri.
Marlin was born May 25, 1941 in Maryville, Missouri, the son of John D and Clare (Swinford) Heflin. After graduating from Horace Mann High School, Maryville, Marlin joined the Navy.
A member of St Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Community, he had worked construction and
drove a truck. He was a member of the Tri C American Legion Post #464, Conception Junction Missouri and the Maryville Elks Club #760.
Marlin was preceded in death by his father, John, October 7, 2001 and mother, Clare August 11, 2002.
Survivors include his son: Scott Heflin; his daughter and son-in-law: Rachelle and Todd Rickabaugh, all of Maryville; three grandsons: Kale Heflin, Austin and Trevor Rickabaugh.

Julian “Gus” Henggeler 73, of Maryville, Missouri died Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at St Francis Hospital, Maryville.
He was born January 9, 1935 in Maryville, the son of Aloysius “A.B.” and Rada (Collins) Henggeler who preceded him in death.
A 1952 graduate of Maryville High School, Gus joined the US Army in 1957.
He married Joyce McMichael in Maryville on February 13, 1960.
Gus had worked for the US Post Office in Maryville over 28 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of St Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Community, Maryville and former member of the Knights of Columbus and St Gregory’s Choir.
Survivors include his wife: Joyce Henggeler, of their home in Maryville; a son and his wife: Bryan and Nancy Henggeler, Winterset, Iowa; daughter and her husband: Judy and Jim Kilroy, Omaha, Nebraska; five granddaughters: Nicole, Paige and Janel Henggeler; Christina and Courtney Kilroy; three brothers: Giles Henggeler, Victorville, California; Charles Henggeler, Costa Mesa, California and Bernard Henggeler, Cincinnati, Ohio; a sister: Mary Ann Conway, Raytown, Missouri; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation is 6:00 to 7:00 pm Friday, December 5, 2008, at Price Funeral Home, Maryville, with a prayer service at 7pm.

Henggeler, Phillip Vincent Henggeler, 44, died Sunday, May 24, 2009, at his home in Pickering, Missouri.
Phillip was born Monday, June 1, 1964 in Maryville, Missouri to Eugene Joseph and Anna Marie Wilmes Henggeler.
A 1982 graduate of South Nodaway High School in Barnard, he was a production worker at Energizer Battery Corporation and was also a self-employed carpenter.
Phil married Gail Turner Oberhauser February 3, 1995, in Maryville.
Phillip was a member of the St Gregory Catholic Church, Maryville and the Christian Church, Hopkins. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and Elks Club.
Preceding in death were his father Eugene Henggeler (November 11, 2005) and brother, Kevin Henggeler (December 7, 1970), 1st wife, Melissa and sister-in-law, Lora Fisher.
Survivors include his wife Gail; three children: Brett Henggeler, Bart Oberhauser and Hallie Henggeler, all of the home in Pickering; mother, Anna Henggeler; three brothers: Kenneth Henggeler, Guilford, Missouri, Gerald Henggeler, Clark, Missouri, Brian Henggeler, Maryville; four sisters: Carol McQueen, Conception Junction, Missouri, Elaine Larabee, Burlington Junction, Missouri, Kathie Williams, Maryville, Missouri, and Janette Manganaro, Omaha, Nebraska

Donald R. Henry, 85, Maryville, Missouri died on Sunday, March 15, 2009, at Golden Living Community in Maryville.
Born September 6, 1923 in Burlington Junction, Missouri, he was the son of the late Willie and Gladys Carmichael Henry.
A veteran, Donald served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II and in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
He married his first wife Jean Dolph on December 6, 1943 in Troy, Kansas. She preceded him in death on July 6, 1990. Donald married Louise Willis Thompson on March 14, 1994, in Maryville.
He was a member of the Laura Street Baptist Church and the Widowded Persons of Nodaway County, Maryville and the Rolla Dick American Legion Post #315, Burlington Junction.
He was predeceased by brother, Wilbur Henry, sisters, Dorothy Garner, Wilma Koger and Marjorie Sloan.
Surviving are his wife, Louise of the home in Maryville, sons, Terrance Henry, Platte City, Missouri, Jim Henry and Steve Henry, Burlington Junction, and Danny Henry, Lewisville, Nebraska, daughters, Katherine Johansen, Burlington Junction, and Joan Maurer, Skidmore, Missouri, stepson Lloyd Dean Thompson, Orlando, Florida, brother, Billy Dean Henry, Braddyville, Iowa, sisters, Doris Watkins, Omaha, Nebraska, Georgia VanPelt, Burlington Junction and Evelyn McCord, Maryville, 22 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

Gary Wayne Henry, age 62, of Godley, Texas, died Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at Hugley Memorial Hospital, Burleson, Texas.
A 1963 graduate of Northeast Nodaway High School, he was a farm laborer and served in the National Guard for 2 years.
Born July 25, 1945 he was the son of the late Norvil and Marjorie Kathleen (Sheeley) Henry.
Survivors include daughter Shannon Marie Greenfield of Wisner, NE., an uncle L.J. Henry Ravenwood, Missouri, and cousins.
A Graveside Inurnment will be held at Oak Lawn Cemetery on Saturday, April 5, at 11:00 AM.

Hersh, Jeanette Clutter - Jeanette Hersh, 70, died Saturday, October 13, 2007, at home in Ravenwood, Missouri.
She was born September 4, 1937, in Parnell, Missouri to Monroe and Marie (Campbell) Clutter.
Jeanette was a 1955 graduate of Ravenwood High School and attended Northwest Missouri State College. She also worked for the United Telephone Company for several years.
She married Dale L. Hersh on November 23, 1958, in Parnell, Missouri.
She was a member of the Ravenwood, Missouri Christian Church and the LaBelle Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

Hillman, Arleta May Lowrance -
Arleta May Hillman, 80, of St. Joseph passed away surrounded by her loving family on June 16, 2008. She was born May 8, 1928 to Orville and Mary Elizabeth (Early) Lowrance.
May graduated from Graham High School in 1945 and was a member of the Maitland, Missouri Christian Church.
She married Orville "Ed" Thomas Hillman in Bethany, Missouri on March 9, 1946. He preceded her in death on December 23, 1999. After marriage both Ed and May worked in California for Douglas Aircrat, in Colorado for a sugarbeet factory and they sold Capper's Weekly for Walter Hillman. She was also a clerk for Bonner's Corner Grocery and a seamstress.
May was a devoted mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her entire life was devoted to her children who have come to depend on her and will miss her deeply. To others she was their seamstress, camping partner, neighbor, member of Graham Hobby Club, room mother, Girl Scout leader, den mother, loyal friend, sister, aunt and great-aunt, and yet to others she was "like a mother to me", "like a sister to me"...
May enjoyed life to the fullest and her family wishes to thank and bless all who were a part of her life.
May was also preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Garey Hillman, her granddaughter Carrie Hillman and sisters Dolores Marie Lowrance and Rose Ella Messner.
May is survived by her son Kirby and wife Sandy Hillman, daughter Teresa McAsey, all of St. Joseph, sister-Ardith Kneale, Vernon, Texas, 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 1 great-grandson-to-be.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at the Maitland Christian Church.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17th at Price Funeral Home, Maryville.

Hillman, Garey Lynn -
Garey Lynn Hillman, 58, St. Joseph Missouri passed away surrounded by his loving family on May 16, 2008.
He was born March 4, 1950 in St. Joseph to Orville Thomas "Ed" Hillman and Arleta May (Lowrance) Hillman.
Garey attended Maitland Grade School and graduated in 1968 from Nodaway-Holt R-VII High School in Graham, Missouri. He was a member of Troop 58 Boy Scouts of America, in which he obtained the rank of Eagle Scout. He also was a member of the tribe of Mic-O-Say at Camp Geiger in St. Joseph.
Upon graduation, Garey worked at Sutherland Lumber Company and numerous construction companies.
Prior to an auto accident on November 19, 1981 in Holt County, which left him as a paraplegic; he enjoyed skiing, surfing, disc riding, ski kiting, speedboat racing and camping at Big Lake State Park. He also enjoyed working on cars, drag racing and being surrounded with good friends and having good times.
Garey was preceded in death by his father, Ed Hillman, his paternal grandparents Walter and Mable (Thompson) Hillman, maternal grandparents Orville and Mary (Early) Lowrance and niece Carrie Hillman.
Garey is survived by his daughters, Darla Renee Manning, her husband Robert and sons Derrick Saunders and Kylin Manning of Maryville, Missouri, Angela Joy Brown and her husband Clint and son Cameron Brown of Paola, Kansas.
Additional survivors are his mother May Hillman, brother Kirby Hillman, sister Teresa McAsey, all of St. Joseph, three nephews and one niece.
The family would like to THANK the Hands of Hope Hospice and the community of Saxton Woods Care Center, where the staff, the nurses and the aides took excellent care of their "Gare-Bear".

Courtney Gene Hilsabeck, 84, Barnard, Missouri, died Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at St Francis Hospital, Maryville, Missouri.
He was born September 6, 1924 in Barnard, Missouri, the son of Ivan and Jessie (Wohlford) Hilsabeck. A graduate of Barnard High School, Courtney joined the US Army in 1943.
He married Betty Lee Quinn on March 20, 1949 in Maryville at the First Christian Church, Maryville in a double ceremony with his sister, Deloris and her husband, Billy Shelton. Courtney and Betty were divorced and he married Yvonne Heckman in Hiawatha, Kansas September 17, 1992. They also were divorced.
Mr. Hilsabeck worked for Montgomery Wards in Maryville, beginning in 1946. He was the assistant Manager when the store closed in 1981. He then worked at Eveready Battery Company until his retirement.
He attended the Barnard United Methodist Church.
Courtney was preceded in death by his parents; a brother: Ivelle Hilsabeck, sister-in-law: Rita Hilsabeck and nephew: Roger Hilsabeck.
Survivors include his daughters: Janie (Donnie) Burch, Maryville; Brenda (Kurt) Culp, Maitland and Beth Strueby, Conception Junction, Missouri; his former wife: Betty Rinehart; sister: Deloris (Billy) Shelton, Maryville; and brothers: Alan (Sue) Hilsabeck, Maryville; Edwin Hilsabeck, Barnard and Gary (Marilyn) Hilsabeck, Barnard; a sister-in-law: Marilyn Hilsabeck, Barnard; 10 grandchildren: 6 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and some very special friends at Village Care Center.

She was born July 4, 1933 in Burlington Junction, Missouri, the daughter of Presley and Helen (Murphy) Clark. A 1951 graduate of Burlington Junction High School, she married Alan Dale Hilsabeck on January 17, 1953 in Maryville.
Sue was the owner of Fields Clothing Store, where she had worked forty-four years and a member of the First Christian Church, in Maryville.
Sue was preceded in death by her son, Roger Hilsabeck (February 27, 2003), her parents and brothers-in-law: Ivelle and Courtney Hilsabeck.

Hinshaw, George Asher - George Asher Hinshaw, 86, of Maryville, Missouri died Thursday, February 14, 2008 at Nodaway Nursing Home, Maryville.
Mr. Hinshaw's body has been cremated. Memorial Services will be held at First Presbyterian Church, Maryville, Missouri on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 11 am. Visitation will be at the church on Monday, the 18th of February from 6-8 pm.
George was born in Wakeeney, Kansas on March 18, 1921. His family moved to Maryville in 1956 where he began a 30 year career of teaching Speech at Northwest Missouri State University. He was a debate coach for many years.
His Kiwanian service included fixing and selling popcorn at many of the college games. He was a regular “Meals on Wheels” driver and a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by a son Ren, Louisville, Kentucky; daughter, Melody, Kansas City, Missouri and grandson Asher, Louisville.

Born on April 26, 1932 in Cambridge, Iowa she was the daughter of George Emmit & Theresa Amelia (Lunnning) Bishop. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Galen Allen Cochran on August 8, 2004.
She was a member of the Laura Street Baptist Church and had retired as a secretary with Loch Sand & Construction, she was also a volunteer with SSM Hospice of NW Missouri for 16 years.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Don Holaday whom she married on March 17, 2007, loving son, Shawn Cochran, Clarinda, Iowa, step-children, Donella Sherry, Kathe DeMott and Jayne McVinua all of Maryville, sisters, Lorine Knutson, Radcliff, Iowa, Barbara Stahl, Sacremento, CA, brother, George Bishop, Stewartsville, MO, grandchildren, Jacob Cochran, Jessica Cochran, Amanda Cochran and great granddaughter, Zoe Cochran, step-grandchildren, Billi & Bobbi Walker, Ben & Lauren DeMott, Michael & Molly McVinua, Shane LaMar.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Maryville and the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #441, Council Bluffs, Iowa. Betty had been a school cook at T J Hifh School, Council Bluff, Iowa for 25 years.
Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers: Charles and Curtis Hayden and sisters: Velma McGinness, Maysel Garrett, Elizabeth Dowden, Lucile Leeson, Ruth Rickman and Grace Pierpoint.

She was born June 4, 1918 in Clyde, Missouri, the daughter of Joseph and Teresa (Wiederholt) Bliley. A graduate of St Benedict’s High School, Clyde, Missouri, Pauline attended nurse’s training at the St Joseph Hospital School of Nursing, St Joseph, Missouri.
She married Lawrence Holtman on October 20, 1938.
A homemaker, Pauline was a member of St. Columba Parish, a charter member and “Gold Star Mother” of the Tri-C American Legion Post 464 Auxiliary, Conception Junction.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband: Lawrence in 1973; her sons: Robert, John and Ronald Holtman; sisters: Mary From, Lorine Lager and Bernadine Auffert; son-in-law: Larry Shackelford and a granddaughter.

all died in a car accident on Sunday, February 24, 2008.
They were the daughters of Len Curtis and Bessie Clara (Lyle) Daise, who along with their brother, Robert, preceded them in death.
Inez was born December 22, 1929 in Graham. A 1947 graduate of Clearmont High School,she married Byron Eugene Honan on July 7, 1947 in Savannah, Missouri.
A homemaker, Inez was a member of the United Methodist Church, Blanchard, Iowa.

Horton, Dorothy Mae Dowden -
Dorothy Mae Horton, 93, St. Joseph, Missouri, formerly of Maryville, Missouri, died Tuesday, February 12, in St. Joseph surrounded by her family.
She was born August 24, 1914, in Maryville, Missouri, to Albert and Matilda Dowden. She graduated from Maryville High School and Northwest Missouri State University.
On August 24, 1941, Dorothy married Jake Shamberger. He died September 5, 1946. On July 19, 1952, she married Myron Horton. Myron preceded Dorothy in death on October 28, 2006.
Dorothy taught school in Rosendale and was a secretary at Maryville High School before her marriage and was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of several bridge clubs in Maryville. Dorothy and Myron worked with the Bell family to establish the Horton and Bell Registered Angus Farm. Dorothy enjoyed taking care of her children and grandchildren, working in her abundant garden, and was famous for her fried chicken and chocolate chip cookies.
Dorothy and Myron moved from their life-time home of Maryville to St. Joseph in 2004 to be closer to family.
She is survived by her daughters: Marilyn Heller and husband Dick, Vicki Hargens and husband Mark, all of St. Joseph, and Ann McClung and husband Jim of College Station, Texas; Grandchildren: Jeff McClung, Manassas, Virginia, Amy Najera, Austin, Texas, Doug Heller, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Cheryl Heller, Brentwood, Missouri, Michael Hargens, Leawood, Kansas, and Ryan Hargens, Kansas City, Missouri; Great-grandchildren: Teagan Heller, Maddox McClung, Abby and Jake Najera, and Samuel and Ella Hargens.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Harold, Harvey, Wilson, John and Lloyd Dowden and sisters: Iola LaMar and Lila Thompson.

Hoskins, Betty Jean Jackson - Mrs. Betty Jean Hoskins 79, of Bolckow, MO, passed away Monday, February 15, 2010, at the Nodaway Nursing Home, Maryville, MO.
Betty was born in St. Joseph, MO on August 12, 1930 to James A. and Stella Mae Wright Jackson, and was a lifelong resident of northwest Missouri. She graduated in 1946, at the age of 16, from Central High School in St. Joseph. She raised her children and was a farm wife.
Betty married Hoyte M. Hoskins on February 22, 1950 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale, Nashua, Iowa. He passed away on June 10, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
Betty attended the Bolckow Christian Church, and had been a member of the Women’s Extension Club, both of Bolckow.
Survivors include her children, daughter, Judy of Reno, NV. Her sons, Dennis and wife Debbie Hoskins, Chelsea, OK., Doug and wife Trynity Hoskins, Bolckow, MO. Also by her brother, Vincen Jackson, Bolivar, MO. Other survivors include eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and longtime family friends, the Pittsenbarger Clan.
The funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, February 19, 2010 at the Bram Funeral Home of Maryville, Inc. Burial will be in the Bolckow Missouri Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

Howard, Donald Dale -
Donald Dale Howard, 95, Maryville, Missouri passed away on March 5, 2009 at Parkdale Manor Healthcare in Maryville.
He was born December 27, 1913 in Farragut, Iowa, the son of George Earl and Rose Margaret (Gruber) Howard. He grew up in the farming area near Shenandoah, Iowa.
After graduation in 1931 from Shenandoah High School, he went to work for Mount Arbor Nursery. Don married Dorlea Elizabeth Snodgrass March 2, 1938 in Shenandoah.
Mr. Howard was an industrial engineer, retired from Berkley and Company. Previously he had been a construction engineer for road and bridgework in Clarinda, Iowa and Omaha, Nebraska.
Don and his family moved to Essex, Iowa in 1948 and then on to Spirit Lake, Iowa. During this time Don was a government-contracting engineer in Thule, Greenland for 8 years before joining Berkeley and Company in Spirit Lake. Retirement beckoned and Don and Dorlea moved to Lake of the Ozarks for four years before settling in Maryville in 1984.
Don was a supporting member of the First Christian Church. He had numerous hobbies including gardening, woodworking, inventing and writing.
Through numerous surgeries over the years, Don maintained his positive outlook and sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Dorlea on September 24, 2006; his parents; his twin sister: Dorothy Dean Lumry and sister: Rose Pauline Morton and two brothers: Ivan Earl Howard and Stephen Bernard Howard.
Survivors include four children: Jerry Dean Howard, St George, Utah; Judith Anne Lawyer, Maryville; Joan Dayle Leader and Donna Jeanne Scott, The Villages, Florida; 10 grandchildren;
25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Don’s body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Hoy, David Allan -
David Allan Hoy, 51, Maryville, Missouri, died Friday, January 1, 2010, at Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas.
David was born May 30, 1958, in Warren, Pennsylvania to Jack Waldo and Eva Mulvey Hoy.
A graduate of Youngsville, Pennsylvania High School, he then served in the United States Air Force from 1976 to 1978.
After moving to Maryville David opened Dave's Grooming and for twenty years was a professional dog trainer and groomer.
David was a member of the Poodle Club of America, Nodaway County Humane Society and the St. Joseph Kennel Club.
Preceding him in death were his father, stepmother Judy Hoy, brother Edward Daniel Blum and sister Charlene Zingone.
Survivors include his mother, Eva Blum, Houston, Texas, three brothers: Jack Waldo Hoy, Jr., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Kenneth Arthur Hoy, San Antonio, Texas; Leo Kenneth Blum, Jr., Kenly, North Carolina; four sisters: Bonnie Lee Novosel, Houston, Texas; Jill Jones, Pittsfield, Pennsylvania; Ilene Fox, Youngsville, Pennsylvania; Kathy Pierce, Russell, Pennsylvania; life-long friend and business partner, Tom Carneal, Maryville; several nieces and nephews.
David's body has been cremated. Burial will be at a later date.

Hoyt, Lela Marie Brenner - Lela Marie Hoyt, 48, of Hoyt, KS formerly of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2009.
Born on August 3, 1961 in Topeka, KS she was the daughter of Mary Marie (Davis) Brenner.
She worked as a cook for many years and worked in home healthcare.
She is survived by her husband, Perry Hoyt, sons, Dustin Sticken, Maryville, Joseph Brenner, Maryville, Logan Allen, Ravewood, a granddaughter, Cameron Sticken, Maryville, Aunt Pat Hill, Topeka, KS, cousins, Vernon & Robert Hill.

Huls, Margaret Elaine Damon -
Margaret Elaine Huls, 93, Clearmont, Missouri passed away on January 22, 2009 in Red Oak, Iowa.
She was born June 9, 1915 to Charles and Mabel (Mann)Damon. Early years found the family moving to Longmont, Colorado where Margaret attended school. Her late teenage years were spent in Southwest Iowa where she met and married James Elden Huls. Margaret and Elden spent their married years as farmers in the Clearmont, Missouri area.
Margaret is survived by a daughter, Margaret Jean Watkins and her husband Martin, Hutchinson, Kansas. Also surviving are grandchildren: Donna Budd, and husband Jim; Steven Hull; Kelly Hull and wife, Cheryl; Wendy Turley and husband, James; Tina Watkins and step-grand-daughter: Karen Shaw. Seven great–grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren also
survive. Margaret will be missed by many friends also.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Elden; step-son, Dean and wife, Helen; her parents and four siblings.
Cremation has taken place. A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday,
March 7, 2009, 1:00 PM at the Oak Hill
Cemetery, Clearmont, Missouri.

Humbel, Mary Miriam, Sister, OSB -
Sister Mary Miriam Humbel, OSB, 84, Clyde, Missouri, died Thursday, January 29, 2009, at Our Lady of Rickenbach Health Care, Clyde.
Mary Margaret Humbel was born September 8, 1924 in Cleveland Ohio, the daughter of Fred and Katherine (Seman) Humbel. Prior to joining the Convent she served in the Women’s Army Air Corp and was stationed in Vienna, Austria during WW II.
Sr. Miriam joined the Benedictine Convent February 2, 1950. She took her first vows September 15, 1051 and made her final profession November 9, 1956. She served as her congregation’s treasurer many years, as Prioress of their Kansas City Missouri Monastery and as a bookkeeper in later years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Dorothy Palascak and brother, Carl Humbel.
Survivors include her Monastic Family, a brother, Fred Humbel and brother-in law, Raymond Palascak, Cleveland, Ohio; nephews and a niece.
A Wake Service will be 7:00 pm Friday, January 30, 2009, in the Our Lady of Rickenbach Chapel, Clyde, Missouri.
Mass of Christian Burial is 8:00 am Saturday, January 31, 2009 at the Monastery Chapel, with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Clyde, Missouri.

Humphrey, William "Bill" Fishell -
William "Bill" Fishell Humphrey, 72, died Tuesday, December 4, 2007, at his home in Clearmont, Missouri.
He was born July 14, 1935, in Maryville, Missouri to William and Edna (Fishell) Humphrey.
A 1953 graduate of Clearmont High School, Bill also was a 1957graduate of Northwest Missouri State College, Maryville, with a BS degree in Business and Industrial Arts.
He and his brother then ran the family business, Clearmont Oil andCafe and Humphrey Hardware, where he also worked as a plumber and did heating and air conditioning repair. He later was employed by the MFA Bulk Plant and Williams Seed, both in Maryville.
He married Audria L. Ferguson on December 27, 1954, in Troy, Kansas.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, City Council for 19 Years, the Volunteer Fire Department and Oak Hill Cemetery Board for 27 years, all in Clearmont.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Michael Humphrey.
He is survived by his wife Audria, of the home in Clearmont; two daughters, Miccia Humphrey, Maryville and Shelli Wampler and her husband, Derk, Higginsville, Missouri; son William Paul Humphrey, Greenville, Illinois; eight grandchildren: Jessica, Blair, William Seth and Bailley Humphrey, Clarinda, Iowa and Sam Humphrey, Maryville; and Jacob, Riley and Marjorie Wampler, Higginsville; brother Jake Humphrey, Clearmont and sister Karen Cook, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, December 7, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Baptist Church in Clearmont, Missouri, with Funeral Services to be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2007 also at the Baptist Church. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery Clearmont, Missouri.
Memorials may be contributed to the William F. Humphrey Memorial Fund.

Hunter, Lester -
Lester Hunt, 98, Conception Junction, Missouri died Monday, March 10, 2008 at St Francis Hospital, Maryville, Missouri.
He was born February 16, 1910 in Stockton, Missouri, the son of Jacob Clarence and Isabelle Maude (Caldwell) Hunt.
On October 26, 1935 Lester married Alice Marie Deaver, in Shenandoah, Iowa.
A farmer, Lester also worked in construction, having helped build the St Francis Hospital. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. His family is very proud
of his ability to have stayed in his own home until his death.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Alice on April 21, 1993, his parents; brothers, sisters and four grandchildren: Brian Stiens, Brenton Wilmes, Derek Wilmes and Jennifer Reeves.
Survivors include his daughters and their spouses: Tanis and Jack Colwell, St Joseph, Missouri; Connie Wilmes and Bonnie Swalley, both Maryville; Jeanne and Gerald Jackson, Independence, Missouri; Gayla and Bob Reeves, Bonner Springs, Kansas; Carole and David Middleton, Maryville and Joy and Barry Harms, Franklin, Tennessee; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation is 6-7pm Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at Price Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri; Funeral Services will be 10am Wednesday, March 12th at Price Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Miriam Cemetery, Maryville, Missouri.

Hutchison, Anita "Jo" Smith - Anita “Jo” (Smith) Hutchison, 47, Elmo, Missouri died Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at the Bryan LGH Medical Center East, Lincoln, Nebraska.
Jo was born January 24, 1961 in Clarinda, Iowa, the daughter of Zealand and Marjorie (Livengood) Smith. She was a 1979 graduate of West Nodaway High School, Burlington Junction, Missouri and a graduate of the Southwest Iowa School of Cosmetology, Shenandoah, Iowa.
She married Steven Hutchison on December 4, 1983 in Elmo, Missouri. Jo owned and operated a beauty shop in Elmo and she worked in food service at Kawasaki Motors in Maryville.
Jo was a member of the Elmo Christian Church, a beautician, an herbalist and a great singer.
She was preceded in death by her father: Zealand Smith on December 18, 2006.
Survivors include her husband: Steven Hutchison, of their home; son: Sean Michael Hutchison, Elmo; step-children: Carissa Grissell, Maryville and Lee Hutchison, Belton, Missouri; 8 grandchildren; her Mother: Marjorie Smith, Elmo; sisters: Melinda and Jim Thompson, Elmo; Connie and Tim Randall, Skidmore, Missouri; Marla and Ted Finney, Skidmore, Tina and Bill Ripley, Elmo and a brother, Bobby and Donna Smith, Elmo.
Numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
