Faber, Mary Andrew, Sister, OSB - Sister Mary Andrew Faber, OSB, 91, Clyde, Missouri, died Monday, July 28, 2008, at Our Lady of Rickenbach Health Care, Clyde.

Sister was born June 10, 1917 in Mellen, Wisconsin, the daughter of Frank and Laura (Walport) Faber.

Sr. Mary Andrew joined the Benedictine Convent December 26, 1936 and made her final profession January 29, 1944. She served as a driver, cook and assisted with farm work.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and 2 sisters.

Survivors include her Monastic Family, a sister, Angeline Pennington and niece, Mrs. Yvonne Maas.

Fannon, Mildred "Millie" Elaine Anderson - Mildred “Millie” Elaine Fannon, 79, Maryville, MO, died February 20, 2010.

Millie was born February 13, 1931, in Buchanan County, Missouri; the daughter of the late John H. and Mary Marie Orwick Anderson.

She was a graduate of Central High School, St. Joseph, MO. Millie was united in marriage to Robert Dale Fannon, June 1, 1950, in St. Joseph. He preceded her in death on July 2, 1987.

Retiring after 19 years, she had worked for the Continental Baking Company as a retail clerk at the Hostess Thrift Store, NOCOMO industries, and Eugene Field School’s Cafeteria all in Maryville. She was a member of the Maryville Eagles Lodge #3669 and was of the Christian Faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Carl Dean Anderson, and one sister in law, Shirley Anderson.

Fannon, Rheta Marlene Herrin - Rheta Marlene Fannon 75 of Maryville, Missouri, died, December 30, 2009 at Heartland Regional Medical Center, St Joseph, Missouri.

She was born July 29, 1934 in New Cambria, Missouri, the daughter of Harve Hardin and Lela Pearl (Shoemaker) Herrin. Rheta graduated from the New Cambria Missouri High School. She was a homemaker and factory worker.

She married Clarence Burton “Bud” Fannon on December 26, 1981 in Maryville. Bud died November 24, 2003.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Robert Herrin and sister, Lillian Bryant.

Survivors include her children: Penny (Jim) Proctor, Maryville; Terri (Dale) Crabtree, Lincoln, Missouri; Brian ({Pamela) Muncy), Maryville; Ronald (Cheryl) Muncy, Omaha, Nebraska and Sandy (Kyle) Mayes, Maryville; fourteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a sister:

Farmer, James Campbell - James Farmer, 79, of Unionville, Missouri, formerly of Hopkins, Missouri died Thursday, April 30, 2009 at the home of his caregiver in Unionville.

Jim was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 9, 1930, the son of Elvis Marvin and Chloe Barbara (Smith) Farmer.

He married Jean Carbaugh on May 2, 1980 in Grant City, Missouri. She preceded him in death on November 6, 1993.

A member of the Hopkins Christian Church, Jim was an auto body repairman.

In addition to his wife, Jim was preceded in death by his parents, a sister: Mary E Beauchamp and brothers: Finnace D. and Louie S. Farmer

Survivors include a son: Jim “Barry” Farmer, a daughter: Beverly Jenkins, three grandchildren; two very special children, and many friends in Unionville.

Farrens, Ralph Eugene - Ralph Eugene Farrens, 83, Concordia, Missouri, (formerly of Maryville, Missouri) died January 27, 2009, at Centerpoint Medical Center, Independence, Missouri.

He was born May 22, 1925 at Clearmont, Missouri, the son of Ralph and Alta Mae (Godsey) Farrens. A 1944 graduate of Horace Mann High, Maryville, he served in the Army during World War II.
Ralph married Carol Carmichael, February 28, 1948 in Maryville. He was a retired mechanic for TWA/American Airlines and a member of Concordia Baptist Church.

Ralph was preceded in death by, his parents; two brothers Clarence and Wilbur Farrens, and a half-sister: Geneva Marie Farrens.

Survivors include his wife: Carol Farrens; three sons, Dennis Farrens, Warrenton, Missouri, Douglas Farrens, Sugar Creek, Missouri and Roger Farrens, Centralia, Missouri; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Fast, Dayne Christian - Dayne Christian Fast, infant son of David and Amy (Stone) Fast died Thursday, February 25, 2010 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska. He was born February 18, 2010 at the Community Hospital in Fairfax, Missouri.

Dayne was preceded in death by a maternal Aunt: Kathy Johnson; Paternal Great-Grandparents:
Lola Fast and John and Marjorie Sloan and his cousin: Brayden Callow.

Ferguson, Cleda Blanche Wayman - Cleda Blanche Wayman Ferguson, the daughter of Freddie and Maggie Colvin Wayman, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the age of 95 years at Golden Living Center, Maryville, Missouri. Cleda was born November 29, 1913, in Worth County, Missouri. She graduated from Grant City High School in 1931.

On December 23, 1931, she married Forrest Ferguson at Albany, Missouri. To this union, four children were born: Edward Wayman, Barbara Elaine, Jimmie Dean and Sherry Lynn. They lived on various farms in Worth and Gentry counties and purchased their own farm south of Grant City in 1941. Forrest and Cleda were married for 67 blessed years before his death in 1998.

Cleda touched many lives through her family, jobs and interests. Her jobs included farmer’s wife, paper hanger, sales clerk, census taker, teacher, secretary and custodian of Eugene Field School in St. Joseph. Her interests were gardening, crocheting, cooking, sewing and volunteering. She was a true matriarch who gave good advice and was loved and respected by all family and friends.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Maryville and the Republican Women’s Organization.

Cleda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Jimmy Dean and son-in-law, Jim Nichols.

She is survived by a son and his wife, Ed and Julia Ferguson, Englewood, Florida; daughters,
Elaine Nichols, Maryville, and Sherry Cady, Kansas City, Missouri; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Fine, John D. - John D. Fine, 89, Hopkins, MO, died Sunday, August 2, 2009 at Parkdale Manor in Maryville, MO.
John was born November 20, 1919 in Conway, Iowa, the son of Oliver Claude and Mary Jane (Moffitt) Fine. He married Eva M. Dukes on December 26, 1945. She preceded him in death on January 5, 2009. They were happily married for 64 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
John owned and operated the Chrysler Automotive Dealership in Bedford, Iowa.
He was a member of the Wray Memorial United Methodist Church in Hopkins, MO.
Survivors: Three sons, Ron Fine and wife, Kay, Carlisle, IA; Larry Fine and wife, Sue, Bowling Green, MO; and Steve Fine and wife, Beth, Independence, MO; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.

Florea, Marjorie M. Howard - Marjorie M. Florea 86, of Maryville, MO., passed away Saturday, January 9, 2010 at the Parkdale Manor Nursing Home in Maryville, MO.

Marjorie was born on May 14, 1923 in Pickering, MO., to Frank D. and Anna Leona Loch Howard. They preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Arcille Payton, and a brother, Francis D. Howard in infancy.

She graduated from the Hopkins High School, Hopkins, MO., and had been active in the BPW of Maryville, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She had attended the Methodist Church.

Marjorie was employed for many years as a clerk and manager for Woolworth’s in Maryville, then in Springfield, MO, and Woolco in St. Joseph, MO.

Marjorie married Milo E. Florea in Maryville, MO., he preceded her in death in 1997.

Survivors include 2 sisters, Doris Adamson, Laramie, WY, and Darlene Florea, Maryville, MO; a brother, Ronald Howard, Merriam, KS, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at the Bram Funeral Home, Maryville. The Rev. Paul McKim will be the officiant. The burial will be in the Long Branch Cemetery, Gaynor, MO. The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home. Ford, Marvin L., Dr -

Dr. Marvin L. Ford, D.O., 89, Elmo, Missouri died Monday, June 9, 2008 at Village Care Center, Maryville, Missouri.

He was born October 23, 1918 on a farm in Adair County, Iowa, the son of Irvil Robert and Grace Edith (Reeves) Ford. His family moved into town when he was in 1st grade. He graduated from Greenfield High School, Greenfield, Iowa in 1936 as Salutatorian of his class. He also graduated from the Des Moines Still College of Osteopathy, Des Moines, Iowa. Dr. Ford served his internship at Verona General Hospital, Verona, Missouri, where he met his wife to be, Carolyn Graul. They were married on May 16, 1943 in Verona.


Dr. Ford entered the US Army and received a deferred enlistment to practice medicine in a small town. On October 10, 1942 he opened an office in Elmo, Missouri. In 1945 he opened a six bed hospital in Elmo and operated it until 1965 when state regulations made him convert it to a clinic. In 1965 Dr. Ford also became a member of the staff of Shenandoah Memorial Hospital, Shenandoah, Iowa and continued there for 25 years.

He served as Chief of Medical Jurist-Prudence, American College of Osteopathic Physicians and also served on the National Board of Examiners. In 1980 he was awarded "Practitioner of the Year", a citation from the State Board of Health for 38 years of practice (actually practiced for 60 years) and a Missouri Senate Award for 1000 deliveries with no loss of a Mother.

He attended the Clearmont Christian Church and he was a member of the American College of Osteopathic Physicians and the Elmo Lions Club.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn, July 19, 1998; his parents and a toddler brother, Lawrence William Ford in 1923.

Dr Ford is survived by a daughter and son-in-law: Pam and Lavelle "Huck" Koger, Clearmont, Missouri; three grandchildren: Shevon Koger, Arlington, Nebraska; Shad Koger, Fairfax, Missouri and Shanna Brincks, Rosendale, Missouri; four great-grandchildren: Trevor and Trent Koger and Brayden and Brylie Brincks.

Foster, Gerald Gene -

Gerald Gene Foster, 85, Maryville, Missouri, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Heartland Regional Medical Center, St Joseph, Missouri.

He was born December 17, 1924 in Maryville the son of William Henry and Mary Amelia (Crawford) Foster and was a 1943 graduate of Maryville High School.

Gerald served in the US Army Air Corp during World War II. He married Kathleen Marie Pope October 16, 1948 in Maryville.

Mr. Foster owned and operated Foster Saw and Lawnmower Shop in Maryville many years.

He was a member of St Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Community, Maryville; The Tri C American Legion Post #464, Conception Junction, Missouri; a former member of the Elk’s Club and a former City Councilman having served in 1969 when Maryville was
designated an “All American City”.


He was preceded in death by his sons: Patrick Foster (1959) and John Foster (2005) and his parents.

Survivors include his wife: Kathleen Foster, of their home in Maryville; his daughters: Gerry (Jerry) Wagner, Bethany, Missouri and Rosie (John) Archer, Maryville; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; a brother: Fred Foster, Maryville; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6-7 pm at Price Funeral Home, Maryville followed by a family and parish Rosary at 7 pm, Friday, February 26th.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 27, 2010 at St Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church, Maryville with burial in St Patrick’s Cemetery, Maryville.

Foster, Robert Porter, Jr, Dr - Dr. Robert Porter Foster Jr., the seventh president of Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, died Monday, March 10th, 2008 at the age of 90.

He had served as president of the University for 13 years from 1964 until retirement in 1977 with the title of President Emeritus. He and his wife, Virginia Mutz Foster, had maintained their residence in Maryville until 2006 at which time they moved to Bishop Spencer Place in Kansas City, Missouri.

Dr. Foster was born May 24, 1917, in Warrensburg, MO, the son of Robert Porter Foster and Oda Magnolia Long Foster, who both preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Augustus L. Foster and a sister, Lucille Foster.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia, whom he married on March 23, 1943, in Maryville.

Other survivors include a son Robert Porter Foster III, his wife Dori Wielandt Foster, of Bern Switzerland, and their three children of Geneva Switzerland and another son Douglas Kemp Foster, his wife Lisa Tresnicky Foster, and their two children of Dallas Texas.

Dr. Foster was graduated from Warrensburg High School with honors, received the Bachelor of Arts degree from Central Missouri State University in 1939, received a master’s degree in educational administration in 1951, and the Ed.D Degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in educational administration in 1960.

His first career in education began with teaching and coaching, and ultimately becoming high school principal at Carrollton, MO High School from 1939 to 1942.

He volunteered for the U.S. Navy and served in the North Atlantic and Caribbean theaters of operation during World War II from 1942 to 1945, ultimately attaining the rank of Lieutenant Commander.

Following his service in the Navy, he moved to Maryville where he briefly worked in private business until 1948, when he was named Registrar and Director of Admissions at Northwest Missouri State University.

Later, following his time as Dean of Administration, he was urged to succeed J. W. Jones as President and in 1964, the Northwest Board of Regents elevated him to the school’s presidency. As University president for 13 years, he led the school during a period of unprecedented growth; student growth from 500 to 6,500, additions of academic, athletic and service programs and tremendous campus facility and technology expansions. He organized the Northwest Missouri State University Foundation and, through his forceful, undaunted efforts, raised funds to better support faculty member salaries and student scholarships. He worked directly to launch and grow the University radio station, KXCV, the first of its kind.

His greatest development was through the close relationships he had to the students, many of whom achieved more than thought possible through the counsel of Dr. Foster.

His efforts culminated in, at the time, Northwest Missouri State College attaining University status. He was rewarded for his efforts by being selected Man-of-the-Year by the Maryville Chamber of Commerce and later as an Outstanding Graduate of Central Missouri University, the Citation of Merit for Distinguished Service to Education presented by the University of Missouri Columbia and the Distinguished Service Award by Northwest Missouri State University.

He served in the community as Commander of the Missouri Division of the American Legion and later as a member of the national Foreign Relations Committee. He also assumed leadership roles with the Boys Scouts of America, ultimately being recognized by the National Council with the Silver Antelope Award.

He served with distinction on the Boards of Curators at Central Methodist College, Fayette, MO and Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. In 1981, Northwest Missouri State University named the new University Aquatic Center in his honor.

He was a member of the Maryville United Methodist Church, and during his career held memberships in Lions International, the Maryville Chamber of Commerce, Northwest’s Athletic Booster Club, the Masonic Order, and the Maryville Industrial Development Corporation, which saw the successful development and expansion of a major thoroughfare, Highway 71.

Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday March 15th at 11 o’clock AM at the United Methodist Church, in Maryville Missouri followed by a reception at 2 o’clock PM at the Northwest Missouri State University on the third floor of the Union Building in the First Lady's Dining Room. Kaden Michael Frame, 5, of Keokuk, Iowa died Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at Children’s Mercy Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri as the result of a traffic accident.

He was born April 21, 2004 in Maryville, Missouri, the son of Shaun and Jennie (Wermelskirchen) Frame.

Preceding him in death were his great-grandfathers: Lewis Wermelskirchen and Donald Wilmes and great-grandparents: John and Lucille Frame.

Survivors include his parents and sister: Shaun and Jennie and Adisyn Frame, all of the home in Keokuk; his maternal grandparents: Patty Wermelskirchen, Maryville and Sam Wermelskirchen, Burlington Junction, Missouri; paternal grandparents: Bob and Sue Frame, Ainsworth, Iowa and Diane and Scott Keller, Garden City, Kansas; maternal great-grandmothers: Peggy Wilmes and Mary Pat Wermelskirchen, Maryville; paternal great-grandparents: Edward and Margaret Rossman, Lone Tree, Iowa and Jim and Joann Brennan, Tipton, Iowa; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Frederick, James Dale, Sr - James Dale Frederick, Sr., 81, Maitland, Missouri died Thursday, October 9th at Parkdale Manor, Maryville, Missouri.

He was born in Altus, Oklahoma, the son of James Asie and Carrie (Hayes) Frederick. Dale
served in the US Navy during WWII and married Barbara Doty Quinn March 12, 1948 in Kansas.
A milkman, Dale retired from the Gold Spot Dairy, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by: his wife: Barbara Frederick on June 11, 1997; a son: Marty Eugene Frederick; his parents, brothers: Leon and Gary Frederick; sisters Wanda, Carrie, Louise, Faye, Velda and Lawanna Frederick.

Survivors include his children: Dianna Frederick, Quebec, Canada, Gloria Hayes and James Dale Frederick Jr, Maitland; a brother: Harold Frederick, Newalla, Oklahoma; a sister, Rosemary Johnson, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Fuller, Lyle Wayne "Babe" - Lyle Wayne “Babe” Fuller passed away at his residence south of Clearmont, Missouri Tuesday, February 3, 2009. Lyle was born February 12, 1926 on the family farm north of Clearmont, Missouri to Moses Thorn and Vera (Harper) Fuller. He was a farmer and member of the Clearmont United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 315 of Burlington Junction, Missouri. Babe was a corporal in the United States Marines from 1944 until 1947. Babe was with the 2nd Marine Division Landing Force in 1945 when U.S. forces invaded Okinawa. He was with the first troops into Nagasaki, Japan when the war ended. He was a graduate of Clearmont High School, Clearmont, Missouri and also attended Braddyville High School in Braddyville, Iowa. He attended elementary school at Maple Lawn country school north of Clearmont, Missouri.
He and Beverly Snodgrass were married February 28, 1954 at the United Methodist Church in Yorktown, Iowa.
Babe thoroughly enjoyed his vocation of farming. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed bowling, baseball, basketball and football.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mose and Vera (Harper) Fuller; brothers, Keith, Merlin, Ralph and his wife Dorothy, and Marvin; brother-in-law Kenneth Snodgrass and sister-in-law Dorothy Fuller.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly, of Clearmont; daughter Rhonda Kay and husband George Harris of Burlington Junction, Missouri; three grandchildren, Kenzie, Nick and Zack Harris of Burlington Junction; brother Paul Fuller and his wife Luella of Maryville, Missouri; sisters-in-law Nadine Fuller of Maryville, Annabelle Fuller of Clarinda, Opal Fuller of Clarinda, Diane Snodgrass of Clarinda, and Coral Vondrasek and her husband Ed of Oakley, Michigan; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends and relatives.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Clearmont Cemetery with Pastor Don Barnett officiating. Military Rites will be provided. Family visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at Eickemeyer Funeral Chapel, Clarinda. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to The Little Red School House in Clearmont or the Clearmont United Methodist Church. Eickemeyer Funeral Chapel provided arrangements.

Fulsom, Genevieve Pape -

Genevieve P. Fulsom, 92, of Maryville, Mo. passed away peacefully on January 6, 2010 at Nodaway Nursing Home. Genevieve was born in St. Joseph, Mo. on November 14, 1917 to Chris and Minnie Pape. Genevieve led a very active and independent life right up to a week of her death. She was active in the First Presbyterian Church of Maryville, holding the highest position of Session.

Starting right out of high school, Genevieve was a Red Cross volunteer for an extraordinary 74 years. Genevieve loved teaching First Aid, CPR, the Aquatics Program and working with disaster victims. She held many positions and titles over the years and on June 21, 2006 Genevieve received the Clara Barton Award for Meritorious Volunteer Leadership, the highest award a chapter can present to a volunteer. In 2007, she was given a life-time honorary membership to the Midland Empire Chapter Board of Directors.

In 1957, she met and married Ralph Fulsom and moved to Maryville where her husband Ralph taught at Northwest Missouri State University. For many years, she commuted to work at Swift Packing Co. in St. Joseph, until they closed in 1972. Dr. Ralph E. Fulsom preceded her in death on December 22, 1992. Also, preceding her in death was sister, Verna Gambrill.

Genevieve rescued many cats and dogs over her lifetime and belonged to the Maryville Humane Society, National Humane Society, Peta, and The Seeing Eye Dog Organization. She was actively involved in getting the new building funded for the Nodaway County Humane Society.

Other interests were the National Federation of Republican Women, a Soroptimist Member since 1978, and the Heritage Foundation, with an emphasis on funding women scholarships.

She spent many hours active in the Maryville Rose Society, the Clay County Rose Society, Federated Garden Clubs of Missouri and National Garden Clubs, Inc. On the December 1st, 2009, meeting, Genevieve did the Installation of Officers for the Maryville Garden Club for the year 2010 - 2011. She was awarded the State Life Membership in 1990 and the 1999 National Council of State Garden Clubs Life Member (nominated by the Northwest District) in 1999.

Genevieve is survived by Justine Snyder, sister, and Robert Pape, brother. She was dearly loved by many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. Genevieve and Ralph Fulsom opened their home to any relative who wanted to go to Northwest Missouri State University to attain their degree. Several took them up on their generous offer.

Genevieve wished her remains to be cremated. The family would like to hold a memorial service in the spring at the First Presbyterian Church of Maryville. Funderburk, Marie Josephine Meyer -

Marie Josephine Funderburk, 92, Maryville, Missouri, died Saturday, February 14, 2009, at St Francis Hospital in Maryville.

She was born January 9, 1917, in Clyde, Missouri to Pete and Agatha (Wolfer) Meyer.

She married George P. Funderburk on February 21, 1939, in Conception, Missouri.

Marie was a retired cook for St. Francis Hospital, Maryville. She was a Roman Catholic and a member of St. Gregory's Parish, Maryville. Marie always enjoyed playing cards.

She was preceded in death by her husband George Funderburk (August 16, 1981), granddaughter Denise (Sullivan) Mansil, grandson Todd Sullivan, daughter-in-law Cathy Funderburk, brother Paul Meyer, sisters: Katherine Nielson and Frances Nielson.

She is survived by one son Donald Funderburk, La Vista, Nebraska, two daughters: Ruth Sullivan and husband Bob, Gladstone, Missouri, Rose Mary Funderburk, Maryville, three grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, brother Ernest Meyer, Saint Joseph, Missouri, two sisters: Dorothy Wilmes, Rea, Missouri and Millie Meyer, Maryville and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, February 16h at Price Funeral Home Chapel, Maryville. It will be followed by a Parish Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 17, 2009, St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church, Maryville, Missouri
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Maryville, Missouri.

Funston, Curtis Lloyd -

Curtis Lloyd Funston, 82, of Maryville, Missouri, died November 16, 2008, at St. Francis Hospital, Maryville.

He was born September 7, 1926, in Abilene, Kansas, to Floyd and Ethel (Schuman) Funston who preceded him in death.

Mr. Funston was a graduate of the Solomon, Kansas High School and pursued three years of study in Electrical Engineering and twelve professional management institutes, multiple book reviews and advanced managment thesis in NRECA management courses.

In 1945, Curtis married Margaret Charles.

He served his country in the Navy from 1944-1947. He was employed as a field engineer by Richardson Electrical Engineering Company and by Ninnascah Electric Cooperative as system engineer in 1950. He was also employed as Assistant General Manager of C & W Electric Cooperative in 1951 and as General Manager of Nodaway Worth Electric Cooperative in 1955 and as General Manager of Northwest Missouri Electric in 1967. He was employed as CEO of Northwest Electric Power Corporation in Cameron, Missouri from 1971-1981 and again from 1987-1990.

Mr. Funston was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Maryville, where he served as Elder, member of the Session, and member of the board of trustees.

He served two terms on the Maryville City Council in the 1960's, two years as Mayor of Maryville, 1966-1967, member of the Board of Directors of Cameron State Bank, 1974-1981,member of the Nodaway Lodge #470 AF and AM, former President of Missouri Electric Coop Managers Association, former President of Board of Directors of Northwest Electric Power Corporation, Cameron, former Board of Directors Associated Electric Power, Inc. Springfield, former Board of Directors of Missouri Electric Cooperatives, Jefferson City, Missouri. He received the National Advanced Management Achievement Award in 1964, Missouri Association of Electric Coops Distinguished Service Award in 1986, and was a Feasibility and Engineerng Consultant in India and Pakistan in the early 1970's.

He is survived by his wife Margaret Funston of the home; three sons: Steve Funston and wife Betty, Lenexa, Kansas, Jeff Funston and wife Carole, Maryville, and Stan Funston, Skidmore, Missouri; four grandchildren: Mark, Jill, Doug Funston and wife Jennifer, Stephanie Owings and husband Randy; four great-grandchildren: Rachel, Steve, Olivia and Amy; and two sisters: Donna Kirchofer, Broomfield, Colorado and Peggy Hansen, Abilene, Kansas.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 22, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, Maryville.

Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m., at the church prior to the service.

Inurnment will follow in Miriam Cemetery, Maryville.

Memorials may be directed to the Maryville Public Library or the Shepherd's Kitchen of the Presbyterian Church.
