Betty June Baker, 81, Maryville, Missouri, died Thursday, July 9, 2009, at Golden Living Center, Maryville.
She was born June 21, 1928, in Barnard, Missouri, the daughter of William “Bud” and Lottie (Mattson) Boner.
A 1946 graduate of Barnard High School, Betty married Edwin Lee Baker on November 23, 1946, in Troy, Kansas.
She was a homemaker and retired from the accounting department of the City of Maryville after twenty-three years of service.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Maryville.
Preceding her in death were her husband: Ed on August 24, 2007 and her parents.
Survivors include her children and their spouses: Bill and Lori Baker, Maryville, Brenda and Keith Best, Ravenwood, Missouri and Barbara and John Edmonds, Wichita, Kansas, seven grandchildren, Linda Zimmerman, Lisa Leader, Paula White, Mark Frampton, Julie Dunlap, Kelly Baker, and Cooper Edmonds and twelve great-grandchildren.
Visitation is 2-4pm, Sunday, July12, 2009 at Price Funeral Home Chapel, Maryville.
Funeral Services are 10am Monday, July13 at Price Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be in Nodaway Memorial Gardens,Maryville.

Edwin L. Baker, 81, Maryville, Missouri, died Friday, August 24, 2007, at St Francis Hospital.
He was born April 12, 1926, in Guilford, Missouri to Fay and Hazel (Belcher) Baker.
Ed married Betty June Boner on November 23, 1946, in Troy, Kansas.
A graduate of Barnard High School Class of 1944 Ed was employed in tire sales at Montgomery Ward prior to becoming the owner of Tire City from 1972 until retirement in 2000.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Maryville. A veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II he was also a 60 year member of the James Edward Gray American Legion Post #100, serving as a Past Commander, a member of 40/8, the Elk's Lodge and the Seth-Ray-David Veterans Of Foreign Wars Post #442.
Preceding him in death were his parents and sister Evelyn Childress.
He is survived by his wife Betty, son Bill Baker and wife Lori, Maryville, 2 daughters, Brenda Best and husband Keith, Ravenwood, Missouri and Barbara Edmonds and husband John, Wichita, Kansas, Seven grandchildren, Linda Zimmerman, Lisa Leader, Paula White, Mark Frampton, Julie Dunlap, Kelly Baker, and Cooper Edmonds and twelve greatgrandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00PM Sunday, August 26 at Price Funeral Home Chapel, Maryville.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 27 at 10:30AM also at the funeral home chapel.
Burial will be at Nodaway Memorial Gardens, Maryville

Baker, J.R. - J.R. Baker, 78, of Bolckow, MO passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at the St. Francis Hospital.
He was born on June 6, 1931 to the late Fred and Ruby (Ridlon) Baker in Barnard, MO.
He retired from being a Self-Employed Trucker in 1975, and continued to raise cattle for the rest of his life.
He was a member of the United States Marine Corps and served in the Korean War from 1952 until 1954.
Mr. Baker is survived by his beloved wife, Wylla "Dee" Baker, of Bolckow, two daughters, Susan Geib of De Smet, SD and husband Mark; and Ellen Finney of St. Peters, MO, and husband Curt. He is also survived by a brother Frank Baker, of Martinsville, MO, and a sister Roberta Swalley, of Independence, MO, and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He is preceded in death by a sister Pauline Wooderson, and brothers, Estel Baker, Leslie "Bud" Baker, and J.D. Baker, he is also preceded in death by his parents.
There will be a visitation at the Danfelt Funeral Home, 951 S. Main St, Maryville, MO 64468 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, on Monday, June 8, 2009.
Services will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 2:00 PM, at the Danfelt Funeral Home, in Maryville, MO. Final Resting Place will be in the Weathermon Cemetery, Guilford, MO.
The family suggest that memorial donations be made to the American Lung Association.

Baker, Jay Glaze - Jay Glaze Baker, 88, of Maryville, passed from this life on Friday, February, 29, 2008 at the Cameron Regional Medical Center.
Born on November 24, 1919, to Joye Irene Glaze and Hall Barney Baker in their farm home near Cainsville, Missouri, Jay graduated from Northwest Missouri State Teachers College in 1941, majoring in Business and Mathematics, with the highest academic ranking for four years.
Jay owned and operated Maryville Typewriter Exchange, joining his father-in-law in the family business in 1946. Now known as MTE Office Center, the company is owned and operated by his son, Roger Baker, continuing the family tradition for more than 80 years, serving Northwest Missouri and Southwest Iowa with quality office equipment and supplies. The Maryville Chamber of Commerce also recognized Jay as "Boss of the Year".
Jay Baker served in the United States Air Force during World War II as a flight engineer and navigator on B-29s, honorably discharged as a Second Lieutenant in 1945.
Surviving children from his deceased wife, Betty Jayne Tarpley, are his daughter, Vicki Baker and her partner Willie Rickel of Kansas City, and his son, Roger Baker, his wife, Susan, and their three children, Elizabeth, Jessica and Jonathan, all of Maryville. His current wife, Audrey Minnis White Baker and her son, Craig White, his wife, Julie, and their children, Andrea and Hayley of Liberty, Missouri, survive Jay. Many extended family members of the Rickel and Minnis families also survive Jay.
As a sixty-year member of the Nodaway Masonic Lodge 470 A.F. and A.M., the Edward Gray American Legion Post #100 Maryville, the VFW and a lifetime member of the NWMSU Alumni Association, Jay was an ardent Bearcat fan and sports enthusiast. Serving on the original St. Francis Hospital Foundation Board for more than 25 years, Jay was also a dedicated Shriner and member of the congregation of the First Baptist Church of Maryville.
Visitation will be at the Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville on Monday evening, March 3, 2008, from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. Graveside Services will be at Nodaway Memorial Gardens at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 4. A Celebration of the Life for Jay Baker will follow at the First Baptist Church of Maryville, 121 East Jenkins, one block east of Main Street, at 11 A.M. Velda P. Baker, age 88 of Guilford, Missouri died on Sunday, September 6, 2009, at Parkdale Manor Care Center in Maryville, Missouri.
Born May 12, 1921 in Guilford, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Pearl Etta Harman Carter. She was united in marriage to Estel Earl Baker, December 21, 1940 in Troy, Kansas. They were divorced in 1958. He preceded her in death on August 13, 1979.
She was a graduate of Guilford High School class of 1939. Velda worked for 19 years at the former cap factory in Stanberry, MO and later employed as a custodian by NWMSU where she retired.
She was a member of the Barnard Christian Church, Barnard, Missouri.
Survivors include: son, Earl E. Baker, Maryville, MO; 2 daughters, Donna M. Huffaker, Bolckow, MO and Marilyn D. Guthrie, Pocahontas, AR; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter.
She was predeceased by brother, Perry Carter, sisters, Lillian B. Harte and May L. Oliver.

Barmann, Lawrence V. -
A funeral mass for Lawrence Vincent Barmann, 94, Lawrence, will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 7 at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church, Maryville, Missouri. Burial with military honors will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Maryville.
Mr. Barmann died Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at Brandon Woods Retirement Community, Lawrence, Kansas.
He was born January 22, 1913 in Maryville, Missouri, the son of Charles Augustus and Catherine Parle Barmann. He attended grade school his first years at Jones Branch (near Arkoe), and then St. Mary's in Maryville. He graduated from Maur Hill High School in Atchison, Kansas in 1931.
Mr. Barmann served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He entered in 1942, completing his basic training at Fort Walters in Mineral Wells, Texas. He graduated from officer training school at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. In early 1944, he sailed to Europe on the Queen Mary from New York and served in England, France and the Philippines as a captain in the 755th Engineers Company until his honorable discharge in 1946.
After the war, he resumed farming near Maryville. Mr. Barmann married Margaret Marie Lawrence on October 27, 1949 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Kansas City, Kansas. He was a member of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church in Maryville. Over the years, he was active with his parish and community activities, including serving on the boards at St. Gregory's parish and Mount Alverno School, and volunteering with 4-H. After retiring, he also enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and traveling, including reunions with his Army Company and trips to Europe. He moved to Lawrence, Kansas in 2000, and became a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Lawrence, Kansas; three daughters, Ann Edwards and her husband Robert, Leawood, Kansas; Kathy Robbins and her husband Mark, Lawrence, Kansas; Sue Buchanan and her husband Richard, Charleston, South Carolina; one son Larry Barmann and his wife Kathy, Red Oak, Iowa; grandchildren U. S. Army Specialist Matthew Edwards, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Susanna Edwards, Blue Springs, Missouri, Christina Rauba, The Woodlands, Texas, Mark Barmann, Omaha, Nebraska, Angela Britten, Glenwood, Iowa, Stephen Robbins, Lawrence, Kansas, Neal, Andrew and Hallie Buchanan, Charleston, South Carolina; great-grandchildren Jordan and Malia Baker, Lauren Rauba, Jasmine Barmann, Conor Britten; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Paul, George and Charles.
The family will receive friends at St. Gregory's Church from 6:00 to 7:00 p. m. Sunday, January 6, and a prayer service will follow at 7:00 p. m. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 7 at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church, Maryville, Missouri, followed by internment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Maryville.

Barmann, Veronica Rose Fisher - Veronica Rose Fisher Barmann went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 from her home south of Maryville.
She was the youngest of seven daughters of Peter Joseph Fisher and Elizabeth Jane McLarney Fisher of Easton, MO, where she was born on August 3, 1908. She attended Easton Schools and was a graduate of Easton High School in 1926 as the Salutatorian and an outstanding captain of the championship basketball and track teams.
Veronica attended St. Teresa Junior College, Kansas City, MO and later received her lifetime teaching certificate from the Maryville Teacher’s College. She taught in one-room schools in Buchanan County before marrying Charles A. Barmann on Sept. 2, 1931 at St. Joseph’s Church, Easton, MO. Veronica and Charles lived on the family farm near Maryville for the rest of her life. Charles preceded her in death on Jan. 28, 1994 after 63 years of marriage.
Veronica and Charles were the proud parents of ten children: Bernard (Bee Murphy) Bakersfield, CA, Robert (Alice Farnan) Maryville, Mary Jane (Jim Wynne deceased 2002) Terre Haute, IN, Richard deceased 1999 (Mary Ann Steinhauser) Plattsburg, MO, Fr. Karl Barmann, OSB., member of Conception Abbey, assigned as Pastor of St. Peter’s Parish, Fulton ,MO, Sr. Rose Ann Barmann, OSB., member of Benet Hill Monastery, Colorado Springs, CO, presently assigned as Pastoral Minister at St. Gregory’s Maryville, Lawrence P. (Catherine Boedeker) Maryville, Teresa deceased 1948, Regina (Steven Paschold) Firth, NE, and Michael (Mary Jo Busby) Maryville, MO. Veronica has 22 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Veronica was active in and participated in all aspects of her children’s lives as a 4-H leader, Mother’s Club at school and chauffeur. She was a member of the Merry Matrons Extension Club and the Good Neighbors Club. She served as a poll judge for elections and with Charles delivered meals on wheels for a number of years. She loved working in her vegetable and flower gardens. True to her Irish and German culture, she was an superb cook and she presented a table feast with elegance and grace.
As a lifelong Catholic, active involvement in her Church was an important part of her life. As a member of St. Mary’s and St. Gregory’s parishes, she was active in the Legion of Mary, Women’s Guild and a Eucharistic Minister. As a Eucharistic Minister she visited the Maryville Nursing Homes for many years. Embracing Benedictine values, Veronica was also a Benedictine Oblate. For those who had the privilege of knowing her, she will be remembered as a valiant, faithful and fun-loving woman who led and loved through example.
Veronica was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Ellen Gram, Beatrice Fisher, Regina Fisher, Mary Kelly, Rita Fisher and Elizabeth Gregory.
A Family Rosary will be prayed on Sat. Jan. 12 at 7:00 PM and a Legion of Mary Rosary on Sunday, Jan. 13 at 2:00 PM, both at Price Funeral Home.
Visitation is at St. Gregory’s 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday Jan. 13, Prayer Service at 7:00PM.
An 11:00AM Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, Jan. 14 at St. Gregory’s, Maryville, with Fr. Karl, presiding and Abbot Gregory Polan, OSB, Conception Abbey will be the homilist. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Barnes, Clarence Charles -
Clarence Charles Barnes, 87, also known as Chuck or Hump to his friends, Maryville, Missouri, formerly of Lee's Summit and Kansas City, Missouri died Sunday, April 13, 2008, at Golden Living Care Center in Maryville, Missouri.
He was born July 8, 1920, in Dawn, Missouri to Alfred and Lotta (McKerlie) Barnes. A 1939 graduate of Maryville High School, he also attended the University of Missouri in Rolla. He served in the United States Navy during World War II.
His first wife was Norma Dowell, whom he married in 1943. They were later divorced. He married his second wife, Noda Barbour in 1967. She died in 1997. He and his current wife, Betty (Chaves)Tyson Wilson Barnes were married on April 15, 2004, in Maryville.
Clarence was the owner and operator of the Barnes Auto Salvage in St. Joseph and also operated a salvage yard in Kansas City. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Maryville. He was also a member of Nodaway Masonic Lodge #470 AF & AM, James Edward Gray American Legion Post #100, Maryville and the Moila Shrine Temple and Scottish Rite, St Joseph.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Elbert "Turtle", Dale "Dab" and Lloyd "Tubby" Barnes.
He is survived by his wife Betty of the home in Maryville, daughter Norma Garrett and husband Jay, St. Joseph, son Chris Barnes, Kansas City, Missouri, adopted daughter, Nancy Barbour Hosterman and husband Denny, Denver, Colorado, step-sons, Turner Tyson and wife Linda, Jefferson City, Missouri and Edwin Tyson and wife, Jeanne, Moses Lake, Washington, step-daughter Barbara Finn, Pensacola, Florida, 2 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Barnes' body has been cremated.
Visitation is 10-11 AM Saturday, April 19, 2008 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Maryville, Missouri with a Memorial Service at 11AM. Following the Memorial Service there will be a Masonic Service conducted by Nodaway Masonic Lodge #470 AF and AM of Maryville.

Eva Marie Barnes, 91, of Maryville, Missouri passed away February 11, 2010, at Golden Living Care Center Maryville, Missouri.
She was born July 18, 1918, in Hanna City, Illinois, the daughter of Frank and Nellie (Hurst) Rosecrans. Marie graduated from Hopkins High School, Hopkins, Missouri, in the Class of 1936. She married David Carl Barnes, August 27, 1936, in Peoria, Illinois.
A homemaker, Mrs. Barnes was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Maryville and the LAW Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband: David Barnes (December 15, 1999); her parents; a brother Earl Rosecrans and sister: Eula Mae Rosecrans.
Survivors include her daughters: Joyce and Paul Kerber, Lee’s Summit, Missouri; Norma and Paul Shea, Amelia, Ohio; a son: Kenneth and Nancy Barnes, Maryville; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Barnett, Alva Clifton - Alva Clifton Barnett, 90, of Maryville, formerly of Hopkins passed from this life on Friday, September 11, 2009 at the Warsaw Health & Rehabilitation Center, in Warsaw, MO surrounded by his family.
Alva served in the Army Air Corps from 1943-1946 and was honorably discharged with the rank of Master Sergeant. Along with his family, he owned and operated Barnett Hy-Klas Grocery Store in Hopkins, Missouri for 30 years. He later retired from the Maryville Hy-Vee store after 10 years and was a member of First United Methodist Church, Maryville. . Alva was born on March 26, 1919 to Edward and Azella Maude (Moreland) Barnett. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Velda Mary (Cochran) Barnett of Warsaw, Missouri, daughter Maryann and husband Doyle Daniels of Warsaw, son Terry Barnett of Denver, Colorado, son Kevin and wife Rachel Barnett of Eureka, Missouri; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Danfelt Funeral Home, 951 S. Main Street, Maryville, Missouri 64468. Final Resting Place will be in the Nodaway Memorial Gardens, Maryville.

Sr. Mary Helen Barrow OSB 81, died Saturday, January 26, 2008 at Our Lady of Rickenbach Healthcare, Clyde, Missouri.
Sr. Mary Helen was born December 9, 1926 in Galesburg, Illinois, the daughter of John D. and Clara Huffman Barrow. She entered the Benedictine Convent of Perpetual Adoration at Clyde on July 15, 1956. Sr. Mary Helen took her first vows March 12, 1959 and perpetual vows March 12, 1964. She served in various capacities and locations in the congregation. She was one of the five founding sisters of the Congregation of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, where she served for many years.
Sr. Mary Helen was preceded in death by her parents and a brother: John D. Barrow.
Survivors include her Monastic family and nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial is 7:30 a.m Monday, January 28th in the Benedictine Monastery, Clyde, Missouri. On Sunday at 5 p.m. a Prayer Vigil Service is in the Community Chapter Room of the Convent at Clyde, Missouri. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Clyde, Missouri.

Daniel Joseph "Dan" Barry, 50 of Conception Junction, Missouri died Sunday, September 7, 2008 at his home.
He was born November 8, 1957 in Maryville, Missouri, the son of Edward and Cecelia (Monnett) Barry, and a 1976 graduate of Jefferson C-123 High School, Conception Junction.
A member of St Columba Parish, Conception Junction, Dan worked on the production line at Energizer Battery Company, Maryville
He was preceded in death by his Mother, Cecelia Barry on October 30, 2006.
Survivors include his father, Edward Barry, Conception Junction; brothers and sisters: James (Denise), Virginia Beach, Virginia; Stephen, Savannah, Missouri; Gerald, St Joseph, Missouri; Raymond (Mary), Bolckow, Missouri; Dennis, Ridgeway, Missouri; Elaine (Ron) Wilson, Maryville; Alicia (Dennis) DiPietro, Appleton, Wisconsin; Vincent (Pam), Ash Grove, Missouri and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Bartles, Hazel Marie Turnbull - Hazel Marie Bartles, daughter of Dewey and Gladys (Perry) Turnbull, was born on July 10, 1926, at Pickering, Missouri. She passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2006, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa, at the age of 79.
Hazel lived in Blanchard, Missouri, until she was about sixteen. At that time, she moved to Shenandoah, Iowa, where she met and married her husband of sixty years. On October 20, 1945, Hazel was united in marriage to Wendell Bartles. They made their home in Shenandoah and raised a set of twins, Ronnie Raye and Connie Faye. Hazel worked at Henry Field’s Nursery for a number of years. In 1962, they moved to Wheatridge, Colorado, where they lived for 26 years. She was a beautician for awhile before going to work for Mountain State Metal, as a paint foreman, until her retirement in 1988. Upon retirement, they moved back to Red Oak, Iowa.
She loved to travel and stop and have coffee. Hazel also enjoyed feeding and watching wild birds, doing holiday crafts and decorating. She always had a big heart and smile for everyone. As a wife, mother and best friend, Hazel loved her family immensely. She will be remembered as the best teacher, who was always fun loving and full of time. Anybody that knew Hazel, knew that she was spunky, stubborn and always her own person.
Survivors include her husband, Wendell Bartles of Red Oak, IA; son, Ronnie Raye Bartles and wife Marsha of Red Oak, IA; daughter, Connie Faye Dalrymple and husband Robert of Homestead, FL; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; two brothers, Arthur Turnbull of Shenandoah, IA, and Eugene Turnbull of Loveland, CO; two sisters, Lucille Harris and husband Jim of Denver, CO, and Viola Crawford and husband Larry of Calico Rock, AR; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Graveside services were held on Thursday, February 2, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah. The Rev. Karen Bash gave the words of comfort. A memorial is being established. The Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah was in charge of the arrangements. |

Alfreda was born January 11, 2006 in Elmo, Missouri,the daughter of Amos and Isabella (Barnhill) Castillo. She graduated from Elmo High School, and attended college at the Maryville Normal School.
On August 10, 1927 she and Clayton Browning Beaver were married in Clarinda, Iowa.
They owned and operated the Beaver Hardware Store in Elmo for many years
and later she helped Clayton when he operated the Standard Oil Company in Elmo.
Alfreda was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton on October 28, 2005; her parents; four brothers: Charles, Elmer, Floyd and Sam Castillo and a sister: Letha Livengood.
Survivors include a niece: Louise Bishop, Maryville and several great-nieces and nephews.

Beedle, Raymond Lorrence - Raymond L. Beedle, 92, Kansas City, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2008.
Raymond was born in Ravenwood, Missouri, the son of Howard J. and Ola E. (Steiger) Beedle. He graduated from Northwest Missouri State Teachers College, Maryville, Missouri with a B.S. and A.B. degree.
He was a certified Public Accountant and co-owner of Francis A. Wright and Company, a Certified Public Accounting firm, when he retired in 1980. During his life Raymond was an avid hunter and skeet shooter. Upon retirement, he became an accomplished golfer with five holes-in-one, the last hole-in-one occurring just days before his 90th birthday.
Raymond was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years: Joann Carver Beedle; a brother: Howard and sister: Martha Kirkbride.
He is survived by two daughters: Sue Ann Childers and husband David A., Ozark, Missouri, grandchildren: Matthew and Benjamin; Ellen Carver Beedle and husband Bruce N. Diel, Overland Park, Kansas and grandchildren: Caitlin and Erin.
A visitation will be 2-4pm Thursday, January 10, 2008 at the Amos Family Chapel, Shawnee, Kansas.

Darrell Beery, 79, Clearmont, Missouri, died Friday, October 12, 2007, at his home in rural Clearmont.
He was born December 24, 1928 in rural Clearmont, the son of Homer Leroy and Zella Elizabeth (Hamilton) Beery. A 1946 graduate of Clearmont High School, Darrell married Ila Marie Calfee July 19, 1953 in Elmo, Missouri.
He was a member of the Clearmont Christian Church. A farmer, he also was the custodian at the Clearmont Elementary School for 27 years.
Survivors include: his wife: Ila, of their home; daughters and sons-in-law: Risee' and Rod Poole and Rhonda and Kelly Glassgow, all of New Market, Iowa; 5 grandchildren: Tabitha and Scott Wharton, Jeremy Poole, Ben and Kourtney Poole; Jessa Glassgow and Kyle Glassgow.
Visitation is 5-7pm Sunday at Price Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri

Beery, Ila Marie Calfee - Ila Marie Beery, 74, Clearmont, Missouri, died Sunday, October 11, 2009, at the home of her daughter in New Market, Iowa.
She was born April 19, 1935 in Burlington Junction, Missouri, the daughter of Virgil and Bessie (Adkins) Calfee. A 1953 graduate of Burlington Junction High School, Ila Marie married Darrell Frederick Beery, July 19, 1953 in Elmo, Missouri.
She was a member of the Clearmont Christian Church and the “Birthday Bunch”.
Ila was a retired secretary at West Nodaway R I School Burlington Junction and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband on October 12, 2007, her parents and a nephew, Trygve Ken Yarrington.
Survivors include: daughters: Risee’ (Rod) Poole and Rhonda (Kelly) Glassgow, all of New Market, Iowa; 5 grandchildren: Tabitha and Scott Wharton, Jeremy Poole, Ben Poole; Jessa Glassgow and Kyle Glassgow; brothers: Don (Virginia) Calfee, Maryville, Missouri and Lowell (Carol) Calfee, Burlington Junction, Missouri and a sister: Evelyn (Louis) Wesley, Arma, Kansas.

Belcher, Lucille Elizabeth Duke - Lucille Elizabeth Belcher, age 95, Barnard, Missouri, died Wednesday, February 13, 2008, at Carriage Square Health Care Center in Saint Joseph, Missouri.
She was born June 5, 1912 in Bolckow, Missouri to the late John Wesley and Maggie Leulla (Cundiff) Duke. Lucille was a 1931 graduate of the Bolckow High School.
On March 9, 1956 she married Okley Fay Belcher who preceded her in death.
She was employed by Seitz Packing House, St. Joseph and was a member of Barnard Church of Christ, O'Howell-Strader American Legion Auxiliary Unit 102 and the Barnard Historical Society.
Lucille lived in rural Maryville, Missouri from 1958 through 1972 when she moved back to Barnard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Okley on December 17, 1972; her parents; three brothers; James Leroy, Don Arthur, and John Wesley Duke Jr. and one sister Dorothy Lou Duke.
She is survived by her brother Lloyd Duke of St. Joseph, six nieces, three nephews; several great-nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 18, 2008 at Price Funeral Home, Maryville.

Bennett, Juanita Baldock - Juanita Bennett 88, of Maryville, MO. passed away on March 5, 2010, at her home in Maryville, Missouri, with her loving family at her side.
Juanita, or “Grandma B” as she was known, was born on May 23, 1921 in Roosevelt, OK to Walter C. and Ola Richey Baldock. In 1938 the family moved to Texico, NM, where she graduated high school in 1940.
On February 12, 1941, she married Gordon Bennett in Texico. They later moved to Oklahoma where their four children were born. Gordon, a flight instructor during World War II, passed away on January 25, 1955.
In 1956, Juanita and her children moved to Ft. Sumner, NM. Until 1994 she owned and operated her own beauty shop and raised her children. She served two terms as the probate judge for De Baca County. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist faith, and moved to Maryville in 1998.
Besides her parents and husband, Juanita was also preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Opal Campbell, her granddaughter, Jennifer Bennett Borrego, and by two brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include her daughters, Charlette (Dennis) Bratcher, Gilbert, AZ, Cindie (Jim) Hansen, Conception Junction, MO, her son, Orvil (Merry Ann) Bennett, Pueblo, CO, her brothers, Walter Baldock, Clovis, N.M., and Gerald Baldock. Los Lunas, New Mexico. She is also survived by grandsons, Gordon and Larry Matlock, Eric and Shaun Bennett, and Eli and Kye Hansen, and her granddaughter, Chanel Hansen. She is also survived by five great granddaughters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at the Bram Funeral Home The burial will be in the American Legion Cemetery, Barnard, MO. Elder Kobee Trueblood will be the officiant. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.

Bennett, David - David Bennett 70, of Maryville, MO., passed away Wednesday December 16, 2009 at the St. Francis Hospital in Maryville.
David was born on October 6, 1939 in Quitman, MO., his parents were Ralph Elliott and Clara Rose Ellison Bennett. They preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Donnie Bennett. A former resident of Skidmore and Maitland, MO areas, David had resided in Maryville for the past nine years.
David was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1964, and had done farm labor for most of his life on the Clarence McGinness farm of the Skidmore, MO. area. He had attended the Presbyterian Church in Maitland, MO.
David is survived by his wife, Judy A. Morelock Bennett, whom he married on March 31, 1931. She survives of home in Maryville, MO. He is also survived by two daughters, Julie Ann Bennett Gross, Maryville, MO., and Cindy Lynn Bennett, State of Washington. Three step-sons, Karen Ray Westcott, Maryville, MO., Timothy William Westcott, Skidmore, MO., and Alic Bradley Westcott, Hopkins, MO. Two brothers, Ralph “Junior” Bennett, Maryville, MO., and Richard Bennett, Skidmore, MO. 10 grandchildren, 11 great grand children, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Bever, Orlena Josephine Hoy -
Orlena Josephine Bever, 103, Maryville, Missouri, formerly of Clearmont, Missouri, died Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Nodaway Nursing Home, Maryville.
Orlena was born February 9, 1907 in Clearmont to William Henry and Mary Josephine (Clayton) Hoy. A homemaker, she was a lifelong resident of the Clearmont area and member of the Clearmont First Baptist Church.
Preceding Orlena in death were: her son Fred W. Bever, two sisters, Eva Bancroft and Fontell Blanchard; three brothers John, Max, and Drexel Hoy, and a grandson Fred William Bever, Jr.
Surviving are three grandchildren: Charlotte Jones, Kansas City, Missouri, Linda Wilson, Villisca, Iowa, and Vinvent Bever, College Springs, Iowa, and seven great-grandchildren.
Orlena’s body has been cremated and private graveside services will be held at the Oakhill Cemetery, Clearmont.

Beverlin, Homer D. -
Homer D. Beverlin passed away at age 86, in The Villages, Florida, August 3, 2008.
He was born July 9, 1922 to the late Lee R. and Evelyn M. (Goslee) Beverlin in Skidmore, Missouri. He graduated from Skidmore High School in 1940.
He was employed as an agent, telegrapher, dispatcher and superintendent throughout his forty years with the Burlington Railroad. This was interrupted only by his duty in the Navy from 1942-1945.
On January 29, 1944 he married Betty J. McDaniel at the Methodist Church in Troy, Kansas.
This marriage brought two sons: Bradford and Bryce. Their family lived in Coin, Iowa, St. Joseph, Missouri, Kansas City, Missouri, Aurora, Illinois, and White Bear Lake, Minnesota. Homer and Betty moved to Summerfield, Florida in 1990.
After Betty's passing in 2004, Homer married Patricia Wilburn in 2006 residing in The Villages, Florida.
Homer leaves behind his sons, grandchildren Brad II, Megan, Bryce II, Christa and Katelyn; great grandchildren Madeline and Julien; brothers Gerald and Jack; sister: Beverly Dooley; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews. and cousins.
There will be a memorial service, 11:00 AM at Price Funeral Home Chapel in Maryville on August 23, with a visitation at 10:00 AM prior to the service. Inurnment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Skidmore, MO.
Graveside military services will be observed.

Dale Billingsley, 98, of Maryville, Missouri died Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Parkdale Manor Care Center Maryville, Missouri.
He was born August 19, 1911 in Clearmont, Missouri, the son of James Nelson and Alice Louise (Sharp) Billingsley. Mr. Billingsley graduated from Clearmont High School in 1922 and later attended Northwest Teachers College in Maryville for two years.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Marie Louise Gray Billingsley, whom he married in Shambaugh, Iowa on May 6, 1949 and passed away December 23, 1991; his parents; three brothers, one, his twin, Jacob Gale, who died August 21, 1911, Floyd H and Lowell W Billingsley.
Survivors include two nieces, Kay Ellen Simon, Tipton, Missouri and Sarah Billingsley, Maryville and cousin, Mrs. Marjorie Perry, Axtell, Kansas.
Visitation is anytime at Price Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri.

Evelyn Jule (Williams) Birkenholz, 86, Maryville, Missouri, died Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Golden Living Care Center in Maryville, Missouri.
She was born April 3, 1922 in Hopkins, Missouri, the daughter of the late William "Riley" and the late Nora (Oxley) Williams. She was a graduate of Hopkins High School.
On June 11, 1966 she was united in marriage to Dale Birkenholz, Jr. in Maryville, Missouri.
Evelyn was employed by Citizens State Bank (NKA Bank Midwest ) and was a member of First United Methodist Church, Maryville, Missouri. She was active in many church activities as long as her health permitted.
Others preceding her in death were her first husband Verlin Brunk who died in 1955, two brothers Paul and Herman Williams and one sister Helen Sample.
Her survivors include one son Gregg (Melanie) Brunk, Hurst, Texas, two sisters, Frances Espey, Maryville, Dorothy Mick, Savannah, Missouri,one brother, George Williams, Maryville, Missouri, two grandchildren, Erica (Aaron) Ladwig, Houston, Texas and Quinn Brunk, College Station, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M. Thursday, January 15, 2009, Price Funeral Home Chapel, Maryville.
Visitation will be 6:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 14th, also at the funeral home.

Lauren Charles Black, 63, Los Angeles, California, formerly of Burlington Junction, Missouri, died Wednesday, August 6, 2008 in Los Angeles.
He was born May 8, 1945, in Saint Louis, Missouri to Robert and Jane (Rogers) Black.
Lauren was a 1964 graduate of West Nodaway High School and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his parents, Robert and Jane Black, Burlington Junction and a sister Leah Rae Miller, Maryville, Missouri.

Grace Roylyn Walker Blackford was born on December 26, 1920 to John Alexander and Mary Etta (Waugh) Walker at the family home southwest of Burlington Junction and passed away on Friday, February 5th. The youngest of six children, Grace attended Quitman School until the 4th grade, then attended Hagey School until 8th grade. She graduated from Maryville High School in 1939. Grace attended Northwest Missouri State Teacher’s College in Maryville and graduated in 1944 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics. She was a homemaker having lived her entire life, until moving to Maryville in 2008, within three miles of her birthplace. While in high school she was baptized into the Baptist Church in Maryville.
Grace married Ercille Truman Blackford on April 15, 1944, at the Baptist Church Parsonage in Maryville, Missouri. Born to this union were two sons, John Eldon and James Leon. She was a member of the Christian Church of Burlington Junction, Missouri and served as Treasurer of the Christian Women’s Fellowship since 1958. Grace taught Sunday School and was a youth leader for many years.
Grace was a 4-H leader and was a member of two local social groups; the Town and Country Club and the Friendly Neighbors Club for over fifty years. She was an active member of the Rolla Dicks Unit 315 American Legion Auxiliary, served as President of the Ohio Cemetery Board and was a substitute teacher for the West Nodaway High School for many years. Grace enjoyed sewing, crocheting and reading.
Preceding Grace in death are her parents; husband, Ercille on February 10, 1999; sisters, Doris Appleman and Mildred Howard and brothers, Clifford Walker and Oren Walker.
Survivors include her sons, John and wife Jill Blackford of Burlington Junction, Missouri and Jim and wife Beverly Blackford of Maryville, Missouri; three grandsons, Nathan and wife Andrea Blackford of Liberty, Missouri, Benjamin Blackford of Maryville, Missouri and Tanner Blackford of Columbia, Missouri; one granddaughter, Brooke Blackford of Olathe, Kansas; one great grandson, Connor Blackford of Liberty, Missouri; one sister, Maxine and husband Ray Nolt of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Blanchard, Roy Dean -
Roy Dean Blanchard, son of Roy and Opal (Blackford) Blanchard, was born October 16, 1926 on a farm in Conway, Iowa and left this life to begin eternal life on Sunday, July 12, 2009 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron, Missouri.
He attended elementary school in a one room school house in the Clearmont, Missouri area and graduated from Clearmont High School in 1944. Dean served his county from 1945-47 in the US Army during WWII.
After his service he returned to the area and on June 15, 1947 Dean married Elois Charlene Fox of Elmo, Missouri at the Methodist Church in Shenandoah, Iowa and began farming. To this marriage, five children were born. Gerald, Brenda, Alan, Brian and Lyle.
In 1976, Dean became a Christian and was baptized into the Clearmont Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and Deacon. He also served as a Deacon and teacher in the Hopkins Baptist Church and at Laura Street Baptist Church, Maryville.
In his chosen career of farming, Dean was a dedicated steward of the land and earned several awards for his dedication to conserve the soil on his farm. He did this until his health prohibited him from continuing and he then retired and moved to Maryville, Missouri. He and Charlene were recognized for their dedication to the area of farming, winning an award as Hopkins Farmer of the Year. Dean worked very hard promoting agriculture but still found time between milking and cultivating to take his kids and grandkids fishing and go to all of their basketball, football and soccer games. He also served on many 4-H committees, attending many 4-H events and Horse Shows.
In addition to his sons, Gerald and Brian; he was preceded in death by his parents: Roy and Opal Blanchard; his granddaughter: Correne Cox Welch and brother-in-law: Charles “Bud” Fox.
Left to continue where his life on earth ceased are his wife: Charlene, Maryville; daughter: Brenda and husband Ron Cox, Bedford, Iowa; son: Alan and wife: Kathy Blanchard, Clearmont and son: Lyle Blanchard, Beatrice, Nebraska; grandchildren: Fletcher Cox and his fiancée, Rachel Segrest, Chicago, Illinois; Troy Cox, Nyala, Sudan, Africa; grandson-in-law: Patrick Welch, Bedford; Dustin and Jesse Blanchard, Clearmont; Ashley Blanchard, Maryville; and Shelby and Nate Blanchard and their mother: Debbie Still, Kansas City, Missouri; brothers: Glenn and wife, Jean, Widefield, Colorado; Raymond and wife, Pat. Blankenship, Billy Howard -
Billy Howard Blankenship, 72, Maryville, Missouri, died Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at Villages at Jackson Creek in Independence, Missouri.
He was born October 28, 1936, in Delaware, Oklahoma to Claude and Gladys (Wolf) Blankenship. Billy graduated from Delaware High School, Delaware, Oklahoma and received his B.S. in Accounting from Oklahoma State University and his M.S. in Accounting from the University of Missouri.
He married Barbara Jean Ray on July 28, 1955 in Delaware, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on May 7, 1997. On October 2, 1999, he married Terri Hope Hamline in Maryville.
Billy was a CPA and Professor of Accounting at both Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville and Missouri Western State University, St. Joseph. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Maryville, a board member of Northwest Regional Credit Union and the Association of Certified Public Accountants.

Bloomfield, Scott Charles - Scott Charles Bloomfield was born April 5, 1960, in Cameron, Missouri. Charles and Alpha Bloomfield were his parents and they reside in Elmo, Missouri. He attended and graduated high school at West Nodaway/Burlington Junction and was in the class of 1978. About ten years after graduation he made his home at Rolling Hills Creative Living in Bethany, Missouri. Scott was an avid sports fan and had a passion for music. The Kansas City Royals were his favorite team and loved being able to go and watch them play. Scott always had smile and a hello for everyone and expected one in return as well. He had a kind heart and will be missed by many.
Scott is preceded in death by his father Charles Bloomfield and his grandparents.
Scott is survived by his mother Alpha Bloomfield of Elmo, Missouri; brother Brian Bloomfield and his wife Debbie of Elmo, Missouri; niece Tabbitha Bloomfield of Elmo, Missouri; nephew David Bloomfield of Elmo, Missouri; great niece Haylee Griever of Elmo, Missouri; many cousins and good friends.
Funeral services for Scott Bloomfield of Elmo, Missouri were held Thursday March 18, 2010, at the Elmo United Methodist Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial was at the High Prairie Cemetery in Elmo, Missouri.

Bowman, Edward C. - Edward C. Bowman was born in Nodaway County Missouri on February 8, 1920, the son Luke E. and Orda Ulva Vachelle Bowman. He grew up in Nodaway County near Burlington Junction and attended rural school at Loraine School. After his formal schooling he farmed in the area. He was drafted into the Army during WWII. After his discharge he returned to the area where he continued farming. On September 8, 1945 he was married to Nora Ann Yates at Troy Kansas. They spent all of their married life farming. Nora preceded him in death on November 15, 2003. He had lived most recently at the Northwest Manor in Tarkio, Missouri.
Surviving is one son: Jim and Vicki Bowman of Clearmont, Missouri; and daughter Carolyn Ann Million and husband Gene of Diamond, Missouri; three grandchildren: James, Bruce and Megan; a great-grandchild; one sister Marian Fine of Arkansas; several nieces and nephews.
Edward passed away Monday, August 11, 2008 at Northview Manor, Tarkio, Missouri. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife Nora; and two sisters, Order Frances Taft and Helen Bowman.

She was born August 9, 1909 in Burlington Junction, the daughter of Tobias and
Mable (Shipley) Spangler. Mary married John Bowman on August 12, 1929 in Maryville, Missouri.
A member of the First Christian Church, Burlington Junction, Missouri. Mary was a homemaker.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, John Bowman; daughter: M Lorine Sanders in 2006; parents; brothers: Robert, Carl and Ivan Spangler and sisters: Neva Spangler, Viola Hatfield, Roberta Carpenter and Rozella Hamm.
Survivors include her children and their spouses: Neva and Gerald Pasch, St Joseph, Missouri; Christian Eugene and Donna Bowman, Kansas City, Missouri and Larry and Norma Bowman, Jonesboro, Arkansas; 11 grandchildren; 31 great-

Boyer, Gilbert -
Gilbert Boyer, 93 of Barnard, Missouri passed away at home Tuesday, February 12, 2008.
He was born January 1, 1915 in Burlington Junction, Missouri, to Ray Herman and Elma (Nicholas) Boyer.
He graduated from Burlington Junction High School in the class of 1933. Gilbert was a loving husband to Mary Alice Helzer who preceded him in death on August 15, 2003.
He was a member of the Graham Masonic Lodge AF & AM which joined the Savannah Lodge where he received a 50 year pin. He was a successful farmer and trucker, first in Burlington Junction and Graham, Missouri before settling on his farm in the Barnard area in the early 1950’s.
In addition to his wife, Gilbert was preceded in death a daughter: Judy McKain; his parents and 5 brothers: Ralph, Ernest Donald, Robert and David Boyer.
Gilbert was the father of seven children, six of whom survive him with their spouses: Carolyn Wells, Lake Worth, Texas, Patricia and Thomas Brost, St Joseph, Missouri, son-in-law: Larry McKain, Gladstone, Missouri Mike and Marcia Evans, Rock Port, Missouri; Ken and Barb Evans, Overland Park, Kansas; Mark and Jeaneen Boyer, Faucett, Missouri and Barbara Cowan, Barnard; grandchildren; Scott and Sandy Rasco, Michelle Herring, Shannon and Caitlin McKain, Annah, Pettlon, Tricia, Karley and Joshua Evans, Alicen Boyer, Tim and Laura Cowan; great- grandchildren: Chris, Ashley, Mark and Karen Rasco, Hannah Herring, Keyton, Jaxon and Anastyn Pettlon; great-great-grandchildren: Kaleb and Caitlin Rasco; nieces and nephews.
Gilbert’s small country home overflowed with family and love at each holiday and family occasion. He appreciated the community and good neighbors that added to his enjoyment of life.

Brandt, George Eldon "Bud" -
George Eldon “Bud” Brandt, 85, of Ravenwood, Missouri died Monday, June 16, 2008 at St Francis Hospital, Maryville, Missouri.
He was born May 11, 1923 in Worth, Missouri, the son of Roy E. and Clara (Lame) Brandt. A 1940 graduate of Ravenwood High School, George joined the Navy and served as a Merchant Marine during WW II.
On October 1, 1949 George and Cleola Beth Powell were married in Maryville. They farmed in the Ravenwood community where he was also an electrician.
George was a member of the Ravenwood Christian Church, and he attended the Community of Christ Church in Maryville.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Cleola, of their home in rural Ravenwood; a son and his wife: Greg and Anita Brandt, Ravenwood; granddaughters: Megan Elizabeth and Shelby Lynn Brandt; a sister: Lucille Nelson, Maryville and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Brandt’s body has been cremated.
Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 am Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Community of Christ Church in Maryville, where Memorial Services will be conducted at 10:30 am. Inurnment will be in Sweet Home Cemetery, Ravenwood, Missouri.

Sr. Mary Juliana Bresson OSB 102, died Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at Our Lady of Rickenbach Healthcare, Clyde, Missouri.
She was born December 9, 1904 in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph Charles and Lucy Ellen (Guenther) Bresson. Sister attended school in Glenmont Ohio and she received a degree in Business and Library Science from the University of Utah.
Sr. Juliana entered the Clyde Convent on October 1, 1920. She took her first vows on February 10, 1923 and perpetual vows on March 10, 1928. She served as librarian and in retirement continued to help in the Library.
Sister was preceded in death by her parent and brothers: Fr Charles Bresson OSB and Fr. Adrian E. Bresson OSB.
Survivors include her monastic family and several cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 7:30 AM day in the Adoration Chapel, Clyde, Missouri. A pm Prayer Vigil Service is in the Community Room of the Convent at Clyde, Missouri.
Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Clyde, Missouri.

Brown, Harold Vincent - Harold Vincent Brown, 91, Maryville, Missouri, died Saturday, March 29, 2008, at Cameron Regional Medical Center in Cameron, Missouri.
He was born August 17, 1916, in Kansas City, Kansas to Walter and Nettie Hunt Brown.
Harold married Audrey Maxine Mounts on September 1, 1937, in Troy, Kansas. She preceded him in death on November 27, 1995.
A veteran, he served in the United States Army during World War II.
Harold had been a truck driver for Dohrn Transport and was a member of the Laura Street Baptist Church. He was also a member of James Edward Gray American Legion Post #100 and Teamsters Local 710, Chicago, Illinois.
Also preceding him in death were a brother, Walter C. Brown, Jr. and sister, Lucille Davison.
He is survived by his daughter, Constance Maxine Tullos and husband Otis, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, two grandchildren, Vincent Tullos and Tiffany Scott , six great-grandchildren, Christian, Brandon, Meagan and Lillian Tullos and Jackson and Noah Scott and sister, Alice Marie French, Huntsville, Alabama.
There will be no formal visitation.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008 in Nodaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Maryville, with military services provided by James Edward Gray American Legion Post #100.

Herbert Dale Brown, 87, Maryville, formerly of Parnell, died Thursday, September 25, 2008, at Parkdale Manor Care Center in Maryville, Missouri.
Dale was born March 8, 1921, at Piz Ridge Community in rural Gentry County, Missouri to Herbert and Verdie (Lykins) Brown and he married Roberta Jean Keever on December 12, 1945, in Troy, Kansas.
Mr. Brown was a retired carpenter and a member of Carpenters' Union Local #110, St. Joseph, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his wife Roberta Jean Brown (November 26, 1998), parents, brothers Melvin and John Brown, sister Lela Good, and granchildren Nathan and Mya Smail.
Survivors include sons Jim and wife Joyce, Ravenwood, Missouri; John and wife Vickie, Colorado Springs, Colorado; Steven, Platte City, Missouri; daughters Velma Schrader, Red Oak, Iowa; Linda Smail and husband Charlie, Skidmore, Missouri; Kathy Brown, Wheeling, West Virginia; Paula Burns and husband Don, Charlotte, North Carolina; thirteen grandchildren, five great -grandchildren, and sisters Verlene Vance, Maryville, and Faye Austin, Rockaway Beach, Missouri.

Born on December 10, 1942 in Hutchinson, KS, she was the daughter of the late Charles Wesley & Beulah Ellen (Mattson) Fors.
She was a member of the Community of Faith Church, Maryville.
She was a member of the Quilt Guild & the Red Hatters.
She had been employed for many years at the St. Francis Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Carl Bryant whom she married on August 13, 1960 in Hutchinson, KS, sons, Bradley Clark Bryant and wife Kim, Denver, CO, Michael Kennith Bryant, and wife Deanna, Clarinda, Iowa, daughter, Dana Sue Bryant Schmidt and husband David Lee, Maryville, son, Carl Wesley Bryant and wife Elvira, Davenport, Iowa, sisters, Charlene Weatherby, Fredonia, KS, Pasty Wagner, White Tail, Texas, brothers, Doug Fors, West Covina, CA and David Fors, McPherson, KS and survived by 10 grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Jane Corner.

Catherine Mary (Spire) Busby, 81, of Parnell, Missouri, died Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Village Care Center, Maryville, Missouri.
Catherine was born March 11, 1928, in Parnell, Missouri the daughter of Vincent and Josephine (Lager) Spire. A graduate of Parnell High School, she married John Lawrence Busby on October 4, 1947 at St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Parnell.
A homemaker, Catherine was a member of St Joseph’s Parish, St Ann’s Altar Society, the American Legion Auxiliary, Parnell and she was an American Red Cross Volunteer. Catherine loved to quilt and crochet.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Leo Spire.
Survivors include her husband, John L. Leontine Busby, 100, Maryville, Missouri died Thursday, January 10, 2008 at Parkdale Manor Care Center, Maryville.
She was born on September 9, 1907 in Bethany, Missouri, the daughter of Luther and Ollie Jane (Clark) Johnson. She graduated from Bethany High School in the class of 1924 and attended Northwest Missouri State Teachers College, Maryville.
On April 21, 1928 Leontine married Eugene Busby in Maryville. She had taught school, was a sales clerk in Gates and Tivoli Vogue Dress Shops and a homemaker.
Mrs. Busby was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Busby on September 22, 1978; her parents, a brother: Homer Johnson and sister, Anna Lea Bray.
She is survived by a son: Jack Busby, Little Rock, Arkansas; a daughter: Mary Lou Benning, Atlanta, Georgia; a sister: Janie Webb, Dallas, Texas; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is anytime at Price Funeral Home, Maryville.

Butler, Nellie "Nana" Burch - Nellie “Nana” (Nee Burch) Butler, 83, Burnsville, Minnesota, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 1, 2009.
She was born September 4, 1925 to Nelson and Lola (Baker) Burch in Clearmont, Missouri. She attended grade school in Clearmont until the family moved to Clarinda in 1935. Nellie spent her junior and senior high school years in Clarinda, graduating from CHS in 1943. She worked for a time at the POW Camp in Clarinda, where she met her husband, William. After moving to Minnesota, Nellie came back to visit friends in Clarinda every year, including a trip back in 2008.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William, and a daughter, Linda.
Survivors include her daughter, Terri (Roy) Carter, Pequot Lakes, Minnesota; son James (Alice) Butler, Eagan, Minnesota; grandchildren, Felicia Mitchell, Anthony (Rachel) Carter, and Elizabeth Butler; nieces Daphne, Jolie, Michelle and Cherie; brother-in-law, John Pearson; many friends; and her beloved dog, Teddy.
There will be a private family service with an interment “down Home’ in her beloved Missouri at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Salvation Army or your local animal shelter |

Michael J. "Mike" Byland, 58, Maryville, Missouri died October 16, 2007 at his home
in rural Maryville.
He was born November 5, 1948 in Lenawe County, Michigan. He was the son of Dr. Benjamin and Lillian (Giboney) Byland. Mike was a 1967 graduate of Maryville High School, Maryville, attended Northwest Missouri State University and served in the US Navy.
He was a member of St Gregory's Parish, Maryville, Missouri.
Mike was a horseman. He had worked at Double B Farms (his father's), the Race Track in Hot Springs, Arkansas and most recently at Ak Sar Ben in Omaha, Nebraska.
Mike was preceded in death by parents and sister, Nancy Byland.
He is survived by his brother: John T. Byland, Maryville, Missouri.
Visitation is 6-7pm Sunday, October 21, 2007 at Price Funeral Home, Maryville.
