Jackson, Lois Marie Carter Ervin - Lois Marie (Carter) Jackson, age 92 of Maryville, Missouri formerly of Red Oak, Iowa entered into rest on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at the Parkdale Manor Care Center in Maryville, Missouri.

Lois was born June 20, 1925 in Adams County, Iowa the daughter of Leland C. and Grace Elizabeth (McMorran) Carter. She was the eldest of four girls. Lois was a loving daughter to her parents and a "protective big sister " to her sisters Dolores, Maxine, and Ramona. Her childhood years were spent in and around the small town of Carbon. One of her fun memories of growing up in Carbon was to walk on top of a very high river bridge west of Carbon with her sisters. This was especially daring because none of the Carter sisters could swim. Being the daughter of a coal miner, Lois learned early the value of hard work which helped her later in life in her working career. She attended Carbon schools and later graduated from Corning High School in 1943. Following graduation, she attained an emergency war-time teaching certificate and taught school children at a very young age.

In 1945, Lois met and married Thomas Arthur Ervin. To this union, three children were born: Gary Leland (1946), Robert Wayne (1951) and Sherry Elizabeth (1952). Tommy's military service in the US Army took the family to many around-the-world places like, California, Alaska, Japan and Germany. Later, the family settled in Alabama where Lois taught Kindergarten in the Huntsville Community School District and continued to raise their family.

In 1965, Lois moved her family to Iowa, eventually settling in the city of Red Oak where she began a long career with Union Carbide. In 1974, she met and married Earl Allen Jackson. Lois and Earl lived in Red Oak for many happy years before eventually moving together to the Stanton Care Center in Stanton, Iowa. Lois gradually lost her sight due to an illness but that did not hinder her from maintaining a sharp mind and keeping up on current events. She had no trouble speaking her mind and standing up for what she thought was right. Her family was a very important part of her life and the proof was exhibited in the fact that all the walls of her nursing home room were literally covered with pictures of her family members! She loved and cherished her family up to the time of her death.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Earl, daughter-in-law Debra Ervin, and sister and brother-in-law Dolores and Calvin Haley. Survivors include five children: Gary Ervin, Robert Ervin, Sherry Ervin Lorence and husband Jim, Evelyn Jackson Clingerman and husband Steve, and Sherry Jackson Hidley and husband Robert; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters: Maxine Huebner and husband Winston and Ramona Johnson and husband Denny; along with many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Waldeier, Stanley Wayne - Stanley Wayne Waldeier, 68, of Ravenwood Mo passed away at home on March 14th, 2018.
Stanley was born in Maryville to Lawerence & Jeannette Waldeier on January 28th, 1950. He graduated Northeast Nodaway High School in 1968 and began a lifelong career at Chicago Northwestern Railroad & Brotherhood of Maintenance Way Employees in 1969. He married his high school sweetheart Madeline Mitchell in 1970.
Stan and Madeline made a home with the addition of 3 great (but sometimes ornery) children. We’re not sure where the children got that from! The family moved to Iowa in 1978 and Stan held several positions for the railroad up to and including Vice President of the BMWE. He most enjoyed holding firm on an argument to the benefit of his railroad brothers. After retiring in 2010, Stan and Madeline were very happy to return home to Ravenwood.
He was an avid outdoorsman, loved hunting and fishing. Stan and Madeline spent a lot of time camping and boating as well. Anything to be outdoors. When stuck inside, he enjoyed finding obscure country music from the far southwest with meaningful lyrics so long as you were willing to “listen to the words.” For all that knew him, it goes without saying that any of the above included a good number of slightly true stories and lots of laughter.
Stan was a member of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and the Grand River & Defiance Muzzleloader Clubs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Mary Jane (Keith) Preist; grandson Spencer Owen Waldeier; and sister-in-law Sue Waldeier.
Stan is survived by his wife Madeline Waldeier; son Lawerence (Ed) & Mary Waldeier of Maryville; son Doug Waldeier of Rockford IL; and daughter Annette & Ryan McCarthy of Adel, IA; five grandchildren Tonya, Trevor, Stanley, Joseph & Grace Waldeier; three brothers Larry Waldeier, Jim & Mary Waldeier, and Robert & Ann Waldeier; 15 nieces & nephews.
Rosary will begin at 5pm on Friday, March 16th at St Gregory’s with Visitation from 5:30-7:30pm. Funeral mass will be held at 10am Saturday, March 17th with graveside service at St. Joseph Cemetery in Parnell. Arrangements are under the direction of Price Funeral Home, Maryville. In lieu of flowers, the Stanley Waldeier Memorial Fund has been established at Citizens bank & Trust
