I send you by Capt Dolman Wm McDanell & Henry Wilson. McDanell was charged with shooting at Union Men from the brush in Nodaway Co, Mo. He was found guilty by Military Commission composed of officers of the 25 Regt under Col C. Harding and papers were sent to St Louis, since which nothing has been heard of them. I also send you Henry Wilson of Nodaway Co, Mo tried by the same Commission and sentenced to Alton during the War. Col Harding's practice was to keep the prisoners here until the papers were returned approved Genl Halls orders were that the prisoners should accompany the papers which they were sent to St Louis for approval. Under those orders as the papers are in St Louis. I suppose the prisoners ought to be sent there. There are two other prisoners sentenced to be shot and James Sutton sentenced to Alton during the War. These men are desparate men and are still here in jail. They were tried by the same Commission and the papers sent to St Louis by Col harding in May last. Unless otherwise ordered these prisoners will soon be sent to St Louis, under strong Guard.
