Funeral Service Tuesday for Maryville Man Who Died This Morning |
Robert Henry Blagg, lifelong resident of Nodaway county, died at 6 o'clock this morning at the home of his sister, Mrs Alice Welling, South Main street with whom he had made his home. He had lived in Maryville for 13 years and had been ill for the last three years. Besides Mrs Welling, another sister, Mrs Florence Greeson of Hydro, Okla survives. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Price funeral home, conducted by the Rev Monk Bryan, pastor of the Methodist church. Burial will be in Miriam Cemetery. Mr Blagg, 80 years of age, was born Feb 24, 1870, in Barnard. |

The Rev Monk Bryan, pastor of the Methodist church, Maryville, conducted funeral services for Robert Henry Blagg, who died Saturday at the home of his sister, Mrs Alice Welling. The services were held at the Price funeral home and burial was in Miriam Cemetery. John Hood, accompanied by Mrs Harry Price, sang "Abide With Me" and "Rock of Ages." Pallbearers were Lester Reaksecker, Ralph Cooper, Lloyd Heifner, Gene Baker, Frank Haines and Chester Lyle. |

Charles Calloway Blagg Retired Farmer, Dies |
Charles Calloway Blagg, 79-year-old retired farmer, died at 9:30 o'clock last night at the St Francis hospital where he had been a patient for the past week. Mr Blagg had lived in Maryville at 128 South Buchanan for the past six years. He was a member of the Methodist church. He was born November 16, 1867, in Nodaway county, the son of the late Cynthia and William Blagg. He had spent his life in this county. Mr Blagg was married to Miss Lydia Grace Yeaman, March 2, 1898, in Maryville. Besides his wife he is survived by three sons, Paul Blagg, Chicago, Ill; Charles Blagg, Maryville; and G.W. Blagg, Ottumwa, Ia; two daughters, Mrs Helen Burris, St Joseph; and Mrs M.L. Richard, Mt Pleasant, Ia; one brother, R.H. Blagg, Maryville; and two sisters, Mrs Alice Welling, Maryville, and Mrs Florence Greeson, Hydro, Okla, and 11 grandchildren. Burial will be in the Miriam cemetery. Other funeral arrangements will be announced later. |
