Descendants of the WOOD Family   

George E. Wood     born April 9,1810 in Gallatin County, Kentucky.
   moved to Monroe County in 1856 from Henry County,Ky.    
 +Nancy Jane Batts born Mar.6.,1823. Dau.of Thomas B. Batts and Mary Muir
                   Mary's parents were Miss Vallandingham and Stephen Muir.

  1 Thomas W.Wood  born July 9,1838 died at Madison on Nov 7, 1904.
                   He ran the local Hotel at Madison at the time of death.  

  1 John Wood 
     +Mary Mariah Dixon, Her father, George Edward Dixon came to America 
                         cir 1855+ from Leeds, England. He maintained 
                         weaving looms in Penn but settled the family south
                         of Madison.  

There were 12 children born to George and Nancy.  Three of the children farmed in the central area of Missouri before settling in the Osage Lands of Cowley County, KS
