daughter was born Sept. 3 to Mr. and Mrs. Mike Loehr.
A daughter was born Sept. 4 to Mr. and Mrs. Ora
Green. A son was born Sept. 10 to Mr. and Mrs. Frank
Hagan. A daughter was born Sept. 4 to Mr. and Mrs.
George W. Legg.
Miss
Hazel Webdell of Kirksvjlle and Jack Spencer of
Hunnewell were married Sept. 3.
Mrs.
Jane S. Mc Nair, widow of the late Dr. E. McNair,
died in Denver, Colo. The McNairs came to Monroe
City in 1904, Dr. Mc Nair serving the Presbyterian
church as pastor for 12 years until he became blind
and was forced to give up the work.
Miss
Lois Owen entertained with a bunking party in the
home of Mrs. Dent Owen. Guests included: Misses
Vivian Proctor, Lucia Proctor, Vivian Lee, Virginia
Asbury, Mary Lasley, Mary Bristow, Lois Hawkins, and
Lucille Moss.
The
enrollment in the Monroe City Public Schools for the
current year had increased to 305 with 114 in high
school and 191 in the grades, it was reported by
Superintendent, F. E. Bridwell. There were 15
students in Washington School.
