On
April 7, 1896, at the annual meeting, W.W. Burch was elected
director for the term of three years. It was determined by a
majority vote to have a six month school; it was voted for 40
cents levy if necessary to maintain a six month school.
Lee
Tewell was clerk of the district in 1917.
A
penciled note remarks that wood for the year cost $20 in 1936
and was purchased from Allen Parshall. By 1942, Pearl Mudd was
paid $22 for the wood. Wood was bought in 1940 from Oren Frances
Tewell for $35. Teacher’s salary was $40 per month paid to
Ellen Overly with 15 male and 15 female students enrolled.
1912-Contract
to furnish wood for a six month school was awarded to Arthur
Bynumm for $11, he being the lowest bidder.

Annual Meeting
The
annual meeting was organized by electing Walter Hagan chairman
and Lee Tewell clerk, Chas. Mudd was elected director for the
period of three years.
James
Smith was one of the teachers at the rural Tewell School. The
late Walter Hagan was one of the students. |
