Madison Schools Opens

90 Enrolled in High School, 83 in the Grades

“The Madison schools opened Tuesday morning with an enrollment of 90 in high school and 83 in the grades. The enrollment is an increase of 8 in high school and 23 in the grades. There are 9 seniors, 18 juniors, 32 sophomores and 11 freshmen. The high school faculty is composed of Clifford Hoag, supt., social studies, geography; Sidney Phillips, principal, mathematics, science; Miss Nell young, commerce; Miss Margaret Stephens, English and music. Room I with grades one, two and three taught by Miss Virginia Ragland has 26 enrolled; Room II with grades four, five and six taught by Mrs. Carl (Hood) has 34 enrolled; and Room III with grades seven and eight, taught by Mrs. George Hickey has 23 pupils enrolled. Five bus routes are maintained (for) the Madison school system.”
