Young Man Charged With Assaulting Helen Bradley, Age
15
Monroe
City, Mo., May 11. – John Thomas, 24 years old, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Thomas of Monroe City, was
arrested at midnight Sunday night on a state warrant
issued on information filed by Elmer Bradley, who
resides in Ralls county one-half mile from the Monroe
county line, charging Thomas with assault on his
15-year-old daughter, Helen Bradley. The act is
alleged to have occurred at the Nolen school house,
about two miles south of Monroe City, a short time
ago.
Thomas,
following his arrest was placed in the Monroe City
jail and it is expected that his arraignment will take
place this afternoon before Justice of the Peace Sam
Pollard. Prosecuting Attorney Oliver Nolen of
Paris, has been notified of the filing of the case. Attorney
W. B. Fahy, of this city, has been retained to assist
in the prosecution of the case. Both the Thomas
and Bradley families are prominent and stand high in
the community.
