Newspapers in Holliday

Years ago a newspaper was published in the town by a Mrs. Howerton, assisted by her son and daughter. The printing press was located in the rear of what is now the Mac Donovan building. This was later sold to Mr. John Daniels, who was assisted in running it by Mrs. J.A. Hammings. This paper was called “The Holliday Newsletter”. The Holliday news is now printed in the Monroe County Appeal under this heading. Mrs. Pearl Blackaby is the present reporter to the Appeal.
