Boy with His Grand Champion Calf

S. Matteson, 13 years old, Paris, Mo., and the
Hereford calf he showed as grand champion at the
annual baby beef show last week in St. Louis. The show
is sponsored by the Producer’s Live Stock Commission
Company. The steer sold at auction for $51 a hundred
pounds.
“Repeater” was the
grand champion of 165 4-H baby beefs from Missouri and
Illinois. The calf weighed 990 pounds. “Repeater”
was sold to the Wabash Railroad at 51 cents a pound
bringing %504.90. Prize money on the calf at the show
amounted to $70.00. “Repeater”, the grand
champion, also the 4th and 9th
prize calves came from the herd of M. T. Lasley |
