“Adolphus
Ellsberry, an ex-Confederate soldier, under General Shelby,
died at the home of his son, Wesley Ellsberry, with whom he
had made his home for several years, Monday evening. He was
73 years of age and well and favorably known over Monroe
county. His passing will be learned with genuine regret by
friends and acquaintance, which numbered many. Burial was
made in the Madison cemetery Wednesday with funeral services
conducted at the grave.”
