Names from an Old Account Book Used in the Store and Blacksmith Shop Located at the Site of the Present Village of Strother, Missouri

The first village wasn’t known as Strother. The first High School in the village was the Prairie High School, so perhaps the village might have had the same name. Prof. French Strother came to the village in 1877 to teach in the High School and soon afterwards the little village was named STROTHER in his honor.
