Israel MORRIS Sr. 1764-1851 S/O Jacob and Elizabeth MORRIS of Virginia. Husband of Hannah BURDINE 1771-1853
Family stories say they were neighbors of the SMITH family of Virginia. Israel MORRIS sold his acreage in Virginia and migrated to Shelby County Indiana the fall 1833. Stayed in Indiana and then settled in Lincoln County, Missouri in 1837. All of Israel and Hannah's children were grown, some married, when they migrated from VA to IN to MO.
Will Administered 4/4/1851; Jonah MORRIS with George ZIMMERMAN and John SONELHEN (sp?) as securities for bond $1700.; Heirs: James MORRIS, Elizabeth DEAREN, Lydia SMITH, Israel MORRIS Jr. are all from state of IL. John, Jonah, & Henry B. MORRIS of MO. Will can be found in Will Book 2, page 65. Book is very large and bound so I was unable to photocopy. I have documented below the inheritance left to heirs:

My son James to receive $5.00, one horse, and the benefit of living some
time on my land.
My sons Jonah & Henry to receive $50.00 each and my land at a reduced price.
My daughter Lydia to recieve $25.00 and bond held on her husband for $76.00.
My son Israel to receive $100.00.
My daughter Polly CREASY to receive $100.00.
My daughter Elizabeth DEAREN to receive $100.00.
Children of my son Jacob, dec'd, to divide $100.00 among them equally.
My son John to receive $5.00.
My grandson William MORRIS, son of John, to receive $95.00.
My wife Hannah to receive all residue of estate both real and personal.
