Obituary for Austin C. Woolfolk (1837-1914)

Another one of Troy's pioneer residents has answered the final summons and passed over
the river of death, Austin C. WOOLFOLK, on Tuesday Mar.3, 1914 at 6 o'clock p.m. at the
age of 76 years, 5 months and 11 days. Mr. WOOLFOLK received a slight paralytic several
months ago, and since then he had been in feeble health. Tues. p.m., while talking wih his
wife he received an attack of heart trouble and died a few minutes after being carried to
bed.
Mr. WOOLFOLK was born and raised near the place where he died, and lived there his entire
life with the exception of a few years spent in the west. He married Miss Ellen NOEL,
daughter of Rev. E. P. Noel, Oct. 25, 1860, and while no children blessed this union they
raised 3 orphan children. Besides his aged wife Mr. WOOLFOLK leaves one adopted son,
Clarence, and numerous relatives and friends to mourne his death. The funeral was
held from the Presbyterian Church Thurs, p.m. at 1:30 conducted by Rev. J. C. R. BROWN,
and at the grave in the Troy Cemetery the services were under the auspices of Troy Lodge
No.34 A. F. & A. M.
