Edward "Johnie" O'Garland WILSON, 80, of Troy, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, at his home.
He was born April 9, 1924, in Troy, the son of Edward and Hester SHIELDS WILSON.
He attended school at Troy Buchanan and served with the United States Navy Seabees during World War II in the South Pacific.
He worked in the construction industry as a heavy equipment operator and a pipe line worker. He owned and operated his own business. He was a member of the Troy Masonic Lodge No. 34 A.F.& A.M. and Troy VFW Post No. 8828.
He is survived by one sister, Jeane DUNCAN, of Hawk Point; a son, Gary COX and wife, Carol of Garrettsville, Ohio; a nephew, William E. DUNCAN and wife, Liti of Maryland; two great-nephews, Daniel and Noah DUNCAN; one great-niece, Ruthie DUNCAN; one grandson, Gary Stephen COX and wife, Kelly, of Ohio; one granddaughter, Christine HENDERSON and husband Denver, of Ohio; nine great-grandchildren: Stephen, Aaron, Ellen, Brian, Shannon, Megan and Austin, Jordon and Kelsey.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation was held from noon to 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, at the Kemper - Marsh - Millard Funeral Home in Troy. A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. on Nov. 7. Troy Mayor Charles Kemper officiated. Burial will take place at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Troy Masonic Lodge No. 34, VFW Post No. 8828 or to the donor's choice in care of the Kemper-Marsh-Millard Family Chapel, 351 Monroe St. P.O.Box 22 Troy, Mo. 63379.
