Obituary for Ralph A. Williams

Ralph Alexander WILLIAMS was born on a farm near Troy, Mo., June 13, 1917, and departed this life at his residence in St. Louis, Aug. 5, 1990. He was the only child of Edna TWELLMANN and Essel Forrest WILLIAMS.
He was married to Kathryn Rebecca INGRAM Dec. 14, 1941. They enjoyed nearly 49 years of married life.
Ralph graduated from Buchanan High School in 1935. He was employed as a bookkeeper at the new store in Moscow Mills and also at the Troy Co-op after his graduation. He served in the military during World War II. Ralph was a member of the iron workers union and retired from that profession about 10 years ago.
Ralph was very active in church and community affairs and was a faithful member of Moscow I.O.O.F. Lodge having received a 50 years pin. He served as grand patron. He was a member of the Troy Chapter OES having joined in June, 1942. He later transferred to the Rosehill Chapter OES where he served as worthy patron of Missouri. At the time of his death he was serving as a member of the General Grand Chapter Committee of unfinished business.
He leaves to mourn his passing his devoted wife, Kathryn; Eugene and James DICUS, foster sons who spent several years with Ralph and his mother and through the years had classed Ralph and Kays home, their home; special friends, Mary and Carl HUTSON, many cousins and a host of many, many friends. His smile, his kind and thoughtful ways made him a special person.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Aug. 8, 1990, at Drehmann-Harral Funeral Home. Interment was in Jefferson Barracks Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
