Obituary for Bud Wieman (1926-1983)

Funeral services for Alvin Henry "Buddy" WIEMAN of Moscow Mills, were held at 2 o’clock this (Wednesday) afternoon, March 23, 1983, from the Friedens United Church of Christ, Moscow Mills. The pastor, the Rev. Al Minor, was in charge. Interment was in the Zion E&R Cemetery, Troy.

Mr. WIEMAN passed away unexpectedly Sunday evening, March 20, 1983 in the Lincoln County Memorial Hospital, Troy. He was 57 years of age.

WIEMAN became the Maintenance Supervisor for the City of Troy in September, 1978 and held that position until his unexpected death. In those years, the department undertook great changes under WIEMAN’s supervision. Aided by the acquisition of additional equipment, the city crew took on an additional workload.

"Bud’s death came as a surprise and a complete shock", said Troy Mayor Howard Briggs. "Bud will be missed. He had the knowledge and ability to do a job with ease and will be hard to replace. He worked with great rapport with all members of the crew".

Prior to being employed by the City of Troy, WIEMAN was employed as an operating engineer by J.R. Smarr. He had previously farmed.

He was born in Washington, Mo., January 3, 1926, the son of Edward Alexander and Dorothea SCHNEIDER WIEMAN.

He was married to Miss Mary Lou LEDBETTER on January 26, 1963.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou of their residence; two sons: Edward Aaron and Kevin Michael; three daughters: Lynn Lynette, Roxann and Rita; his father-in-law, Aaron LEDBETTER; an uncle: Ted SCHNEIDER; a number of cousins, other relatives and many friends.

He was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ in Moscow Mills.

Visitation was at the Kemper Marsh Funeral Home in Troy.
