Obituary for Herbert E. Westerman (1909-1987)

Herbert Ernest WESTERMAN, 78, of Bellflower, died December 20, 1987 at University Hospital and Clinic in Columbia, Mo. He was the son of William and Ida OSTENDORF WESTERMAN, and was born February 6, 1909 in Lincoln County. He was confirmed into the Evangelical Church of Moscow Mills and was a self-employed farmer.
He married Amanda WEITKAMP on December 3, 1932 at Moscow Mills.
He is survived by his wife and the following children, one son, Richard, of the home; nine daughters, Fern PARRISH of Ames, Iowa, Eileen BAXTER of Columbia, Patricia MOORE of Florissant, Peggy HAWKINS of Warrenton, Paula WOLLERG of St. Louis, Rachel VINCENT of Montgomery City, Reba MURRAY of Florissant; nine son-in-laws, 22 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. Helen BUENEMAN, Mrs. Willie WRAY KRIEG, Mrs. Eva BUENEMAN and Mrs. Georgia Lee FENNEDY, four brothers-in-law, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and one infant brother.
Herbert moved his membership to Bellflower Methodist Church in 1944, when the family moved to Montgomery County. Herbert was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Funeral services were held at Bellflower United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 22, with burial in the Friedens UCC Cemetery at Moscow Mills, Mo.
