Obituary for Robert Earnest Weitkamp

Robert Earnest WEITKAMP was born March 19, 1901, near Troy, Mo., the son of Theodore Louis and Caroline HACKMAN WEITKAMP. He passed away in the Lincoln County Memorial Hospital, Troy, early Sunday morning, August 15, 1982, at the age of 81 years 4 months and 16 days.
On December 31, 1922, he was united in marriage to Miss Anna Lou MILLER. They enjoyed nearly 50 happy years together. Mrs. WEITKAMP passed away August 10, 1972. He was also preceded in death by an infant brother.
Surviving Mr. WEITKAMP are two sisters: Mrs. Viola POWELSON and Mrs. Helena CAPPEL, both of Moscow Mills; eight nephews, four nieces, several great nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.
Mr. and Mrs. WEITKAMP lived all their married life in St. Louis. He was employed with the International Shoe Co. there until his retirement.
Even though Mr. and Mrs. WEITKAMP lived in St. Louis, they spent much of their time with their family members of the Moscow Mills and Troy area.
About five years after he lost his wife, his brother-in-law, Reed POWELSON passed away. After Mr. POWELSON passed away, Mr. WEITKAMP and his sister, Viola decided to make their home together in Mrs. POWELSONs home.
Mr. WEITKAMP was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Moscow Mills, the Moscow Mills Masonic Lodge No. 558 and the Troy Chapter Order of Eastern Star No. 405.
During Mr. WEITKAMPs illness, all his family was very attentive and cared for his every need.
Mr. WEITKAMP was always a gentleman. He was quiet in manner and very friendly. The lives of all his family and his many, many friends have been enriched by the life of Mr. WEITKAMP.
Funeral services for Mr. WEITKAMP were held at 2 oclock Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 18, from the Friedens UCC of Moscow Mills, with the church pastor, Rev.
Al Minor in charge. Howard Woods was the organist and Lester Schloemann the vocalist.
Interment was in the Troy City Cemetery. Casket bearers were six nephews, Louis and William POWELSON, Paul and James CAPPEL, and Miller and LeRoy BRAUNGARDT.
Masonic services for Mr. WEITKAMP were held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug (remainder of page is missing)
