Obituary for Mrs. Helen Twellman (1891-1974)

Funeral services for Mrs. Helen TWELLMAN, age 82 of Troy, were held Monday afternoon, Feb. 18, 1974, from the Zion United Church of Christ. The pastor, the Rev. Dwight BORDEN, was in charge of the services. Lester SCHLOEMAN was the soloist and Miss Kathy Karrenbrock was the organist.
Interment was in the Troy Evengelical Cemetery. Casket bearers were Rick TWELLMAN, Jim TWELLMAN, Roger STANEK, Gerald D. HARDY, Russell E. HARDY and Ron TWELLMAN.
Mrs. TWELLMAN died Saturday evening, Feb. 16th, in the Lincoln County Memorial Hospital. She was born near Troy Nov. 30, 1891, the daughter of Henry and Helena MUENSTERMANN BEHRENS. On April 15, 1914, she was married to Frederick TWELLMAN. He passed away July 1st, 1973.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Eddie B. (Irene) HARDY, of Troy; four sons: Fred of Los Angeles, Walter and William, of Troy and Alfred, of Washington, MO., 15 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Wayne (Lillian) MONTGOMERY, of St. Louis; two brothers, Alfred BEHRENS, of St. Louis, and Henry BEHRENS, of Troy.
Mrs. TWELLMAN was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ. For 25 years, she was a member of the Sugar Grove PTA and served as president one year. She was a member of the Lincoln County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and served as a 4-H leader in Lincoln County.
Funeral arrangements were through the Kemper Marsh Funeral Home of Troy.
