Frederick William TWELLMAN was born near Troy, Mo., April 3, 1888, the son of Herman Henry and Caroline NAU TWELLMAN. He passed away in Troy early Sunday morning, July 1, 1973, at the age of 85 years, 2 months and 28 days.
On April 15, 1914, Mr. TWELLMAN was united in marriage to Miss Helen BEHRENS, also of the Troy community. The young couple established their home near Troy and became the parents of five children.
Mr. TWELLMAN was confirmed in the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church of Troy, now Zion United Church of Christ, and was active in his church as long as his health permitted.
In his younger years, he was also active in the Independent Order of the Odd Fellows.
A few years ago, Mr. and Mrs. TWELLMAN sold their farm, but retained the privilege of living in their home. For the past several months, Mr. and Mrs. TWELLMAN have been living in Troy with their son, William, and family.
Preceding Mr. TWELLMAN in death were the following brothers and sisters: Herman, Henry, William, Lenna LINNERT, John, Emma, Anna FRINK, Louie and Eda WILLIAMS. He is survived by his wife, Helen, with whom he enjoyed over 59 years of married life; one daughter, Irene, and her husband, Eddie B. HARDY, of Troy; four sons: Fred H. and his wife, Marie, of Mission Viejo, California, Walter and his wife, Dolores, and William and his wife, Elsie, all of Troy, and Alfred and his wife, Mary Ruth, of Washington, Mo.; one brother, Ed TWELLMAN, of Troy; fifteen grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; his brother Johns wife, Anna, of Silex; his brother Henrys wife, Ersie ROBINSON, of Troy; his wifes brother and wife, Alfred and June BEHRENS, of Troy, her sister, Lillian and her husband, Wayne MONTGOMERY, of St. Louis; her brother Freds wife, Tena, of St. Louis; her sister, Marys husband, Dallas FRINK, of Troy; other relatives and many, many friends. In addition to his relatives, Mr. TWELLMAN is survived by several people, who when young, called the Twellman home, their home. These include Jessie BLACK and family, Bob WEBB, Jim WEBB and Ed WEBB and their families, Norma (SCOVEL) BREESE and family and Philip PRYUN and family.
Mr. TWELLMAN greeted everyone with a smile. He was a quiet man who enjoyed the people and activities around him. His home was always open to his family and friends. All these folks will miss Mr. TWELLMAN throughout the remainder of their lifetimes, but they are left with so many happy memories of him that he will always seem near.
Funeral services for Mr. TWELLMAN were conducted at 2 oclock Tuesday, July 3rd, 1973, from the Zion United Church of Christ, by the pastor, the Rev. Dwight Borden. Lester Schloemann was the soloist and Miss Kathy Karrenbrock was the organist.
Interment was in the Troy E and R Cemetery. Casket bearers were Russell E. HARDY, Gerald D. HARDY, Ronnie TWELLMAN, Jimmy TWELLMAN, Ricky TWELLMAN and Dale H. JASPER.
Arrangements were through the Kemper Marsh Funeral Home of Troy, Missouri.
