THELMA D. TEASLEY

Troy ---- Thelma Darline TEASLEY 83, of Troy, died March 31,1998, at the Troy Nursing and Rehab Center in Troy. Funeral services for Mrs. TEASLEY will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the St Stephens United Methodist Church in Troy. Burial will be at Old Alexandria Cemetery.

Mrs. TEASLEY was born Sep. 2, 1914, in Troy, to William Freeman and Ann Elizabeth HOPKINS JEFFERSON. She was married to Callie TEASLEY on Sep. 3, 1930, in Elsberry. He preceded her in death Mar. 22, 1992. Survivors include three daughters, Betty TURNBULL and Barbara Kay MOMPHARD, both of Troy, and Thelma Darline RHOADES of Elsberry; one grand daughter who she and her husband raised, Michelle Ann ALLFRED of Troy; nine other grandchildren; and one brother, Melvin JEFFERSON of Troy. She was preceded in death by one son Gary Dale TEASLEY; two sisters, Mary TURNBULL and Naomi FOSTER; and three brothers, Thomas JEFFERSON, Otto JEFFERSON, and William JEFFERSON.

Mrs. TEASLEY lived all her life in Lincoln county. She was a unit secretary for Lincoln County Memorial Hospital for 28 years. She was a lifetime member of St. Stephens United Methodist church and a member of the United Methodist Women's Organization. She was a member of Rebekah Club and the Demodratic Club. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m today at Kemper -Marsh Funeral home.

[Transcriber's Notes: Not sure who her sister Mary Tunbull nee Jeffferson md. Seemed i saw it one time. I remember my grandmother & Grandfather Hutt used to live on "The Hopkins / Jefferson Place" Hwy KK not far from Cuivre River State Park and Snow Hill / Brussells. Aaron Turnbull lived there for a while. May still live there.

Aaron gave our boy, Scott, a blue tick coon hound and I made the mistake of letting him loose one day. That rascal ran off and headed down Hwy 47 towards Winfield. I was running after him and got in the car after him and Vernell Runge said, "You need to keep that dog tied up." I would have like to of slapped him. I was too much out of breath. I had hoped the dog would have never returned... but he did. He got hungry.]
