Miranda (French) Snead
Obituary - Mrs. H. E. Snead
The subject of this notice was born in Harrison County, Ky., September 4,
1837 and died July 25, 1897, at her home four miles west of Moscow Mills from cancer. Her
remains were interred the following day at Highland Prairie cemetery in the presence of a
large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends. She came to Missouri in 1847 with her
parents and was married to H. E. Snead, Feb. 15, 1855. They
lived in this county ever since, with the exception of one year spent in Illinois. She
left a husband, two children and several grand children to mourn her death. She professed
religion in early life; though not connected with any church, she was a faithful servant
of her Master in spirit as well as in works. Mrs. Snead was loved and esteemed by those
who knew her. Her sufferings were great, but she bore them patiently and did not murmur
when she found that she could not recover. We join many friends in sympathy for the
bereaved family. -- A FRIEND
