DEATH OF J. S. SMITH
The following relatives and friends from a distance were here last Friday to attend the funeral and burial of the late J. S. SMITH: Mr. and Mrs. H. O. KEEF, Mr. and Mrs. R. T. SMITH, Mr. and Mrs. E. W. BRADFORD, Kansas City; Mrs. J. W. BIBB and son, Barton, Mr. and Mrs. Ray COMFORT, Miss Emma YOUNG and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence McDANIEL, St. Louis; Dr.. and Mrs. J. S. MAYES, Nebo, Ill.; Mrs. Lizzie MAYES, Mrs. A. T. CONRAD, J. F. CONRAD, Clarksville; Charles S. HUCKSTEP and daughter, Miss Susie, of Troy.
At the partition sale of the late Mrs. Fannie R. MAYES residence property in West Elsberry Tuesday, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil S. WEEKS were the successful bidders, in the sum of $2,650.00. They are the present tenants of the property.

J. S. SMITH married Miss Katie MAYES April 19, 1896. Katie died in childbirth September 28, 1912, and was buried with her son. Katie was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. MAYES.]
