Obituary for Miss Lorene Simpson (1890-1905)
Uncited clipping (from an Elsberry, MO newspaper).
MISS LORENE SIMPSON daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Wm. SIMPSON, a sweet Christian girl of fifteen years of age, passed away at her home in St. Louis on the 20th day of April 1905. She was born in Lincoln County, May 23, 1890, and spent her childhood in Highland Prairie. Her parents moved to Troy and after two or three years moved to St. Louis. Miss Lorene was baptized when a child and always attended the Methodist Church and Sunday School and was developing into a beautiful Christian character. She visited her old friends in this neighborhood, and little did we then think that we were listening to her kind words and observing that pleasant expression on her face, which she constatly wore, for the last time on earth. The choicest flowers of earth are soonest plucked, to be transplanted for eternity. She was buried in Cups Cemetery in St. Louis, Apr. 20, 1905 O.J.G.
