Obituary -
J. FRANK RINAMAN (1873 - 1923)
Eldest son of JOSEPH and ARTILLA RINAMAN, was born in Lincoln County Mo. October 7, 1873 and died February 28, 1923. Just a week previous he was taken with the "flu" which developed into pneumonia and before the family or his friends were aware of his serious condition he was gone. This announcement sent a shock and sadness throughout the entire community of Hawk Point and surrounding country where he was so well and favorably known. When quite young he became a teacher for a number of terms in the country, farmed for a short time; also conducted a drug store at Iona Mo. For a brief period. Returning to Lincoln county he was subsequently elected to the office of Recorder of Deed and at the time of his death was manager of the Hawk Point Elevator and Supply Co., which business he was conducting to the utmost satisfaction of both the stock holders and patrons of the institution.

He was married to Miss LUCY WALTON of near Hawk Point, March 11, 1896. Two sons were born unto them, WYATT, who is married and lives in Troy, and WILLIE FLAVIUS, who is at home. They, with their mother, survive him.  At the age of 17 he professed conversion to the Savior and united with the Mt. Gilead Baptist church (now Hawk Point) and has ever lived true to that profession. He was a faithful and honored deacon of the Troy church having moved his membership there during his residence in Troy.  The passing of a man of good business judgment and strict honesty coupled with a disposition which makes and retains friendships is a distinct loss to all the interests of any community. Such is the estimate of the writer of the subject of this sketch.

Brief services were held in the home where he was married and were he had lived for the past three years and from there to the church at Troy where the pastor, Rev. J. F. BREEN, gave an appropriate and comforting sermon. The writer also had a part in the service. Burial was in the city cemetery, attended by a large gathering of relatives and friends. May God comfort the sorrowing . - O. A. GORDON

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. JOE RINAMAN of Troy. Survivors were his wife, two sons, parents, three sisters and one brother.

Note regarding clippings from the "Mattie Davis Martin Collection":   Mattie Davis Martin (1875-1943) lived all of her life in Lincoln County, MO.   She collected a large file of clippings of Lincoln County residents.  The majority of the clippings were without citation, and kept stored in an old purse. Doris Martin Jablonski, beneficiary of the collection, has transcribed them for inclusion on our Lincoln County Heritage/Records Page.
