SAMUEL WILLIAM REEDS

To this union were born three children, J. M. REEDS of St. Louis and Martha PRESLEY of Foley; one little girl and his wife died abut 16 years ago. He was married to Miss Ida MCCOLLUM on May 31, 1894 and to this union were born five children. Two little girls died in infancy; one girl and two boys are living. Mr. REEDS died July 5, 1909, of heart trouble and dropsy from which he had been a sufferer for several months. He was a good man, father, husband and neighbor. The funeral services were held at the home July 6, by Bro. Ben DeJarnatt, after which the body was laid to rest in the Morris Cemetery to await the resurrection morning. Besides his wife and children, he leaves many friends and relatives to mourn his departure.
[Transcriber's Note. This cemetery is sometime referred to as the Broyles Cemetery, but the land was donated by Anda Morris, husband of Mahala Jane Thomasson, Morris, for his burial, his wife and their children. Since Sina Morris who md. Andrew M. Broyles was Anda's oldest and many of her family are buried there, the Broyles name caught on. It is sometimes refferred to as "New Morris Cemetery". The older Cemetery across the road ( Highway K) donatd by either Anda's dad, Jonah Morris or his grandfather, Isreal Morris , this cemetery is also known as "Old Morris Cemetery" jg.
