While living near Old Alexandria Methodist Church, she professed her faith in Christ from whom she trusted throughout her long and useful life. The family moved to Briscoe, where she became active in the Briscoe Methodist Church, and for many years, she taught a Sunday School Class in that church. Although she lived most of her life in Briscoe, she retained her membership in the Old Alexandria Methodist Church.
Preceding her in death besides her parents were the following brothers and sisters; Amanda Elizabeth WHEATLEY, John RANEY, James RANEY, Laura N. RANEY, Angeline TEASLEY, Jacob RANEY, Jane Alice RANEY, Felix RANEY Jr., Jonah RANEY, Henry RANEY, Thomas RANEY, and Mrs. Susan TAYLOR. Aunt Belle lived more than a year over a century, a priviledge accorded very few people. ....her life time spanned the years from the era of the post - Civil War days, through the major and minor conflicts of the nation and the world.........
Funeral services....Musicians were Mrs. Henry Arnold and Mrs. Gene Chapman.
Casket bearers were George Wells, Junior Stone, James Zumwalt, Jewell Raney, Homor Cox, and William Henderson.
[Transcriber's notes:
( I believe this is the Briscoe Union Church, not Briscoe Methodist Church..all denominations were welcomed there. I went there as a child. My mother was Baptist and her dad & mother (my grandparents) were from the Methodist and Christian church.. jg)
I will list all the tombstones of family mentioned that I have records for.
