Obituary for Viola Lula Weitkamp Powelson (1896-1977)

            Funeral services for Viola Lula WEITKAMP POWELSON were held Nov. 30 at the Friedens United Church of Christ in Moscow Mills, Mo.  Mrs. POWELSON was 94.

            Mrs. POWELSON was born June 5, 1896, in Moscow Mills, the daughter of Theodore Lewis and Caroline DeVANNA WEITKAMP.

            On March 20, 1919, she was united in marriage to Reed Ernest POWELSON who passed away in December 1977. To this union four children were born, Louis Hannah, William Ernest, Carolyn  and Lulu Vea.

            Mrs. POWELSON died in the Lincoln County Memorial Hospital on Nov. 28, 1990, after a lengthy illness.

            She is survived  by her children, Louis Hannah (Jack) POWELSON of St. Charles, William Ernest and his wife, Margaret, of Wentzville; Carolyn WERMUTH of Troy and Lulu Vea HEITMAN and her husband, Clarence, of Troy; 18 grandchildren and a number of great and great-great-grandchildren.

            Rev. John Riggs officiated at the funeral service with Howard Woods providing music. Interment was in the Friedens Cemetery in Moscow Mills.
