Obituary for Elizabeth Park (1831-1898)

Miss Elizabeth PARK was born in Lincoln County, Mo., August 28, 1831, and was married to James HUSTON April 16, 1857. She died about six o'clock Friday Morning Sep. 9, 1898, without the slightest warning to her now broken - hearted husband and her grand-daughter, Maude CARTER; no other person being present...........
To her and her husband were born seven children--three sons and four daughters. Two of the daughters preceeded her to the grave many years since........
Sister HUSTON was converted to Christ 1863, under the preaching of that noble man of God, Timothy Ford, united with the Christian Church at Elm Grove. In 1885, she and her husband removed their membershp to Liberty Church, Old Alexandria......
Her remains were taken to the Christian Church at Old Alexandria, September 10, at 1:30 o'clock, in the afternoon, where the writer of this preached her funeral from St. Jonn's Gospel 14th chapter, to an entire community of sorrowing relatives and neighbors and her body was laid away in the cemetery at the Methodist Church.........

I don't remember when the Chrstian Church was removed/torn down from Old Alexandria, but I believe it was standing in 1956., close to where Mr. Cal Creech lived. j.g.
