Obituary for Fred H. Niehaus (1887-1973)

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 28, for Fred H. NIEHAUS, 85, of O’Fallon, Illinois from the Wolferberger-Meyer Funeral Home to the O’Fallon City Cemetery. Rev. Walter P. Gerth, pastor of the O’Fallon United Church of Christ officiated.

Mr. NIEHAUS, a retired farmer and a retired agent for Belleville-St. Clair Mutual Insurance Co., died at 3:05 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25, (1973) at Memorial Convalescent Home, Belleville, Ill. He had suffered a heart attack on January 1, 1973.

He was born near Troy, Mo., on October 24, 1887, a son of the late Henry G. and Elizabeth WISSMAN NIEHAUS. He was a brother of the late Henry NIEHAUS and Mrs. Mamie KARRENBROCK. He was married to Jessie L. CAMPBELL in St. Louis on October 9, 1912. She died August 8, 1972.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Marjorie) FAITH, of St. Louis; two sons, Carl F. NIEHAUS, Indianapolis, Ind., and William G. NIEHAUS, of Carmel, Ind.; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Mr. NIEHAUS was a member of the O’Fallon United Church of Christ and its fellowship, 100F Belleville Lodge 26, Ridge Praire Grange and the O’Fallon Senior Citizens Club.
