John F. MILLER died at his home near Troy, June 2, 1901, aged 80 years, 8 months and 21
days. He was born in Catawba County, N.C. Aug. 11, 1820 and came to Missouri in 1856. He
was married to Miss Mary J. COLAW, Nov. 1, 1891.
The immediate cause of death was a fall which he sustained a few days prior to his demise,
though he had long been in poor health.
Mr. MILLER had been a member of Troy Methodist church for 30 years. Funeral services were
held at his late home Monday afternoon by Rev. E. L. Ruthledge and the remains were buried
at the city cemetery.
