Miss Charlotte H. MEYER, widely recognized educator, passed away in her home, Eagle Fork Farms, Moscow Mills, Mo., early Saturday morning, May 19, 1984. She was 80 years of age.

A memorial celebration of her life will be held at 3 o’clock Sunday, May 27, 1984 from Friedens United Church of Christ, Moscow Mills, Mo.

Miss MEYER was born on Eagle Fork Farms November 18, 1903, the daughter of Judge Charles William and Julia Bertha WENCKER MEYER.

She was graduated from the Troy High School, and attended Lindenwood College, St. Charles, Mo., two years. She received her Liberal Arts degree from Grinnell College, Grinnell, Iowa. She returned to her home county and taught in several of the Lincoln County Schools. While teaching she received both inter-state and intra-state recognition for her innovative concepts of education. She was recognized as "A woman ahead of her time" and many of her ideas are now being brought into use.

She was an active member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Moscow Mills, and gave programs and helped with projects in several other churches.

She was named Woman of the Year by Troy Chamber of Commerce in 1970. She was active in extension work and in 4-H work, and was very proficient in handicrafts.

Miss MEYER worked tirelessly on consumer protection issues. She was a recognized conservationist, a historian, archeologist and naturalist. She was a member of a number of professional organizations on local, state, and national levels, and served on a number of boards.

Miss MEYER is survived by one sister, Miss Carolyn MEYER, one brother, Wencher MEYER and his wife, one niece, Mrs. Jack (Jacqualine) KINKER, her husband and their daughter, Miss Amy KINKER, one nephew, Charles Wencker MEYER, his wife and their two sone, Clayton and Carl MEYER, all of Eagle Fork Farms, other relatives and countless friends.

Memorials to the Audubon Society and the Friedens United Church of Christ are being received at the Kemper Marsh Funeral Home in Troy, P.O. Box 222, 63379, or Eagle Fork Farms, Moscow Mills, Mo. 63362.
