Obituary for Hazel Lee Meuth (1906-1992)

Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 20 at 11 a.m. for Hazel Lee MEUTH of Silex at the St. Alphonsus Church in Millwood. Fr. John Mayer officiated with interment in the church cemetery.

Mrs. MEUTH, 85, died Feb. 17, 1992, at the Lincoln County Caring Center in Troy.

She was born Aug.31, 1906, in Whiteside, Mo., the daughter of Walter Lee and Nora Belle (nee WALKER) COLBERT.

She was married to Owen Henry MEUTH on Sept. 22, 1922. He preceded her in death on June 6, 1986. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Wilmer COLBERT.

She is survived by one daughter, Rita L. PEASEL and husband, Melvin, of Silex; one sister, Evelyn Elieen GESSMAN and husband, Ted, of Bowling Green; one granddaughter, Peggy PEASEL MARTIN and husband, Richard, of Winfield; one grandson, Frank PEASEL and wife, Ramona, Troy; two great grandchildren, Paul Joseph MARTIN, Winfield and Nicholas Wayne PEASEL, Troy and one niece, Joan DEAN, of Bowling Green.

She was a member of the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Millwood.

Visitation was held Wednesday, Feb. 19 at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Silex. A Christian Wake Service was held that evening at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or to the American Cancer Society.

Pallbearers were Frank PEASEL, Richard MARTIN, Gary PEASEL, Harry COX, Ron PEASEL and Bill PEASEL.
