Obituary for Major Alexander H. Martin (1817-1870)

Death of Major Alexander H. Martin who died of Typhoid pneumonia at his residence about six o'clock
this morning (13th Apr.) He was born in Fauquier Co., VA Sept. 1817 and moved to this state in 1836. He was elected to office of circuit clerk in 1853, which he still held Feb 1869 when he resigned. He was collector of internal revenue for the fourth district.
