John W. LEFFELER, 56 -year-old workman who lives near O'Fallon, in St. Charles County, was drowned the latter part of last week, when he accidently fell from a barge in the Chain of Rocks canal where it empties into the Mississippi River in St. Louis County. He fell into about 30 feet of water when he was struck by a skip pan attached to the crane. The body was recovered Sunday.
Mr. LEFFELER was a son of Weedon LEFFELER, of Troy. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 19, at St. Paul Church at 9:oo a.m. Interment was made in St. Paul Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, three children, his father, three sisters, and a brother and other relatives.
