Obituary for Frank Lavy (1850-1915)

Frank LAVY was born in Saxony, Germany, July 1st, 1850, and came to America with his parents 6 years later. In 1870, January 3rd, he was married to Miss Ellen Rybolt. Three children were born to then [sic], viz: Jasper, Etta, and Gertrude. Etta passed to the home beyond at the age of 24. Mr. LAVY was a carpenter by trade, a man of strict integrity and honest dealings. A thoroughly good man whose friends were numbered by his acquaintances.

His home for many years was the neighborhood of New Galilee church but four years ago he moved to St. Charles. He was a member of the Baptist church at St. Charles at the time of his death, which occurred Dec. 31, 1915. Funeral services were held at New Galilee church Sunday afternoon Jan. 2, 1916. The presence of many relatives and friends gave witness to the high esteem in which he was held. The burial was in the Wilson Cemetery. O. A. Gordon.
