Death of James B. KITSON

James B. KITSON died early Monday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. GROVER, on North Second street, death resulting from Bright's disease and old age.

Mr. KITSON had been blind for the past ten or twelve years and this affliction coupled with his age and other infirmities, made death a welcome visitor.  He was in his eighty-fourth year, having been born in Henry county, Ky., August 26, 1833.  When a youth of six he came with his parents to Missouri.  The trip was made from Kentucky in a wagon, as that was the principal method of transportation at that time.  His parents settled in Lincoln county, near the Pike county line, and he continued a resident of the county until his death.

He was married to Mary E. LEMERY.  Ten children were born to them, five of whom survive.  Mrs. KITSON passed away in March, 1916, and after that time he made his home with his daughter.

In addition to five children, he is survived by thirty-six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.  Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. T. J. PHILLIPS, and the body was buried in Oak Ridge cemetery.
