Obituary for Jacqueline Meyer Kinker
(1934-1985)Services for Jacqueline June KINKER, 51, of Moscow Mills, will be held today (Oct. 23) 4 p.m. at Moscow Mills at Eagle Fork Farms, Moscow Mills. The Rev. Ken Finley will officiate.
Mrs. KINKER died October 18 in St. Lukes Hospital West in Chesterfield.
"Jackie", as she was fondly called, was a graduate of Buchanan High School, Troy. She attended Central Methodist College, Fayette, Mo., where she was a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha local social sorority. In 1956, she was employed by Delta Airlines, Inc. and excluding a brief maternity leave, was employed with that company until her death, based in New Orleans, Houston, St. Louis and most recently, Knoxville, Tennessee. She was currently serving as president of the Eagle Fork Land Company, her familys farm corporation.
Jackie had become actively involved in the Troy community in recent years serving as vice-president of the Lincoln County R-III School Board, president of the Troy Community Betterment Association and president of the Lincoln County Republican Club. She served as the Lincoln County Coordinator for Francke for Congress; Lincoln County Citizens for Planning and Zoning in 1980; Lincoln County Memorial Hospital Advisory Board and the United Way Tri-County Auxiliary Board. She was also a member of the First Christian Church of Troy.
She was born July 6, 1934 in St. Charles, Mo., first child and only daughter of Wencker Louis and Mary Margaret ANSLEM MEYER. On February 12, 1970 she was united in marriage to Jack Andrew KINKER of Wentzville.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wencker Louis MEYER.
Survivors include her husband of their residence, daughter, Amy Johanna KINKER of Columbia; step-son, John KINKER and his wife, Elsie, of Troy; step-daughter, Bird PISCIOTTA and her husband, Don of Warrenton; step-son, Joe KINKER and his wife, Elaine of Lake St. Louis. She is also survived by her mother, Mary Margaret MEYER and one brother, Chief Warrant Officer Charles Wencker MEYER and his wife, Laura of Sault St. Marie, Michigan; two nephews, eight step-grandchildren, other relatives and innumerable friends.
Those that knew Jackie respected her for her farsightedness and humorous outlook on lifes peaks and valleys. She will be sadly missed, but always pleasantly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Memorials may be made to St. Lukes Hospital West Hospice Unit or the Jacqueline Kinker Memorial Scholarship Fund.
