Mrs. Henry KEMPER

Rebecca J., wife of Henry W. KEMPER, Jr., died at their home in this city at 2:40 p.m. last Saturday, Jan.25, after an illness of but five days. Her death was due to inflammation of the stomach and bowels and was unexpected by the family and friends, as she was thought to be improving until a few hours previous to her death.

Her maiden name was FIESELMANN and she was born in the city of St. Charles, Dec. 11, 1864. At the age of twenty-five she was married to Henry W. KEMPER Jr., of this city, and has since made her home in Troy, where she won the esteem of our citizens generally and the love of those who intimately knew her. Soon after coming here she united by letter with the M. E. Church, South.

She lived the consistent Christian life and died in full hope of a glorious immortality and a happy reunion with loved ones. Her most ardent wish, before the serious nature of her illness was realized, was that she was might be well enough by Sunday night to join in the first commnion of her daughter, Mabel, who recently united with the church.

Funeral services were held at the church at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon and the interment took place at the city cemetery. The deceased leaves a husband, three children, and aged mother, three sisters, two brothers and many other relatives to mourn their loss. May the Christian's faith uphold them in their hour of affliction.

I found no stone for her in the Troy City Cem. but feel she must be buried there as there is a Henry W, and another Henry W. Kemper which I presume would be Jr ? - j.g.]
