Obituary for Lapetta Geneva Ives (1898-1978)

OBITUARY
Lapetta Geneva IVES was born October 30,1898, at St. Peters, Mo., the daughter of Ora and Mary Ann HARDY TURNBULL. She passed away in the Lincoln County Memorial Hospital, Troy, Mo., early Saturday morning, November 11,1978, just 11 days past her 80th birthday anniversary.
On May 20,1915, she was married to George IVES. The Rev. J.S. Eames performed the ceremony uniting the young couple. One son was born to this union.
Mr. IVES passed away April 15,1963. Others who preceded Mrs. IVES in death were her parents, a grandson, Gilbert George, who died in infancy, one brother Jess TURNBULL, three sisters, Elizabeth who died in infancy, Amanda SANDERS and Ruth ROBERTS.
She is survived by her son Albert and his wife, Floyd; two grandchildren: Kay and her husband, Bennie HALL, and Alan IVES and his wife Beckie; two great-grandchildren, Crystal and Scott HALL, all of Silex; one brother, George TURNBULL and his wife Alvina, of Silex; one sister, Jennie and her husband, Alva BALDWIN of Hawk Point; two sisters-in-law, Mrs Edith COLLINS of Hawk Point, and Mrs. Nellie TODD of St.Louis; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many many friends.
Mr. and Mrs. IVES farmed in the Silex area all their married life.
On October 28,1938, Mrs. IVES was baptized in the Cuivre River at Davis, Mo., by the Rev. John Golden. She became a member of the Davis Christian Church, and then a member of the First Christian Church of Troy when those two congregations merged.
Mrs. IVES lived the life of a Christian in her daily home life and in her community.-------
The Rev. John Porter, pastor of the Olney Baptist Church , conducted funeral services for Mrs. IVES from the Kemper Marsh Funeral Home at 2 o'clock , Monday, Nov. 13,1978 . Mrs. Russell Stewart was the organist and soloist.
Burial was in the Sulphur Lick Cemetery. Casket bearers were Dene Langnecker, Mike Murphy, Leonard O'Hanlon, Ralph Collins, Richard Kinion and Alva Kreig.
