SAMUEL IRVIN SR.
Funeral services for Samuel Leroy IRVIN Sr., 75 of Louisiana, were conducted at 1:00 p.m., March 7, from Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Burial was in the Old Alexandria Church Cemetery, north of Troy. Mr. IRVIN died March 5, 1980 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Hannibal.
He was born August 24, 1904 at Winfield to Don and Ellen WALCOTT IRVIN. He was married July 5, 1932 at Elsberry to Laura E. HARDIN and she survives.
Also surviving are six sons: Donald J., Samuel L., and Robert W., all of Louisiana, Norman D. of Bellflower, Delmar R., of Payson, ILL., and Albert Lee of Hull, ILL.; four daughters: Doris SILVEY of Louisiana, Edna HARVEY of Quincy, ILL., Velma Charlene MCCORMICK of Rock Springs, Wyo., and Alice Fay DAWSON of Bowling Green; 45 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Blanche CANNON, Winfield and Hazel LILLEY, Troy; step-mother Velma IRVIN of Foley; nieces and nephews.
