Obituary for Col. Thos. G. Hutt (1817-1892)

Once more we are called to mourn the death of one we could call a dear friend - Col Thos. G. HUTT who died on the morning of the 4th of Sept. 1892, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. C. McFARLAND, in Clebourne, Texas, at the ripe old age of 75 years...
The writer has known Col. HUTT and been on the most intimate terms of friendship with him for nearly 55 years, having both come to Troy from Virginia in 1837............
He served the people of Lincoln Co. Mo with honor and credit for many years, first as a clerk of the courts, in the legislature and in the state senate. In all conditions of life he was known to be a true friend and an honest man. He had been married twice, his last wife having died in Feb. 1882. Since then he has lived and passed his time pleasantly with his children.
His remains were brought to Troy on Weds. last, accompanied by W. C. McFARLAND, his son-in-law and wife of Cleburne, Tx. Mrs. V. M. JOHNSON, his daughter-in-law, his grandaughter, Miss Lizzie HUTT of Highland, Ks., and Col. C. W. PARKER and wife of St. Louis, and were laid to rest in the Troy City Cem. by the side of the loved ones gone before him.......
The Rev. Mr. Latham kindly read the 103d and 23rd Psalms..........
The following gentlemen acted as pallbearers: T. W. WITHROW, Hon. G. T. DUNN, Jas. M. McLELLAN, P. G. SHELTON, Judge B. W. WHEELER, H. W. PERKINS and J .J. ALEXANDER.
